Kidney problems, chronic illnesses, pain... age does not spare poor Shinkara!

1. She has chronic coryza...

Shinkara is a 13-year-old cat, who unfortunately has coryza. The disease has become chronic, which makes her body very tired.

2. She has kidney problems

Shinkara suffers from kidney failure. Because her body does no longer eliminate toxins properly, she has lost a lot of weight.

3. She has no teeth due to gum inflammation!

Because of a gingivitis that doesn't go away, Shinkara had to have all her teeth removed to reduce the inflammation. She still has an ulcer on her tongue, which is very painful when she eats.

4. To keep going, she will need easy-to-ingest canned food

Shinkara will only be able to eat without pain if we have food that is easy enough for her to swallow. Wet canned food would be fine, and would allow her to replenish her energy without too much pain.

5. The situation is evolving, but not in the right direction...

Our free cat colonies are aging, which means high veterinary costs. Abandonments are not stopping, so the number of animals in need is only increasing. The crisis has a huge impact on us, and at all levels...
