Emaciated and lethargic, poor Royco is struggling to recover from being abandoned!

1. He was abandoned!

Royco is a four-year-old cat who was abandoned following the birth of a baby in his family. Upon arrival at our place, Royco was extremely withdrawn and was always hiding! He would not tolerate being handled and was severely skinny…

2. He remains very skinny…

After a round of antibiotics for his gut issues, Royco started eating again. However, he is still incredibly skinny, with protruding bones and a visible backbone.

He could have a kidney issue which may explain his condition. We have an appointment scheduled in four days' time at the vet's for further tests...

3. Canned food would help him gain weight

The nutrient richness of canned food would be ideal to help Royco put on weight. With such a diet, he could gain weight and become stronger while easing his delicate kidneys and intestines at the same time.

4. Donations have decreased by half!

Lately, our association has faced some significant challenges. We neutered 70 kittens in 2023 and are still taking care of them! With each adoption of a kitten, we welcomed new adult cats (often ill and elderly), which increased our veterinary expenses.

With the rising costs, donations have dwindled, and we now collect half the amount of kibble in shops than we did before…
