Animal Webaction visited the site 11 October 2021 and confirms the situation described below.
"The number of cats is increasing day by day! And with the pandemic and the economic crisis, donations are almost non-existent. I have 80 cats to feed, and I can't buy any more kibble, I can't afford it.
I only have 2 bags of kibble in stock, enough to feed them for a few more days only. The most fragile ones will starve to death!
I can't cope on my own any more, I could never accept seeing these cats suffer before my eyes and having to stand idly by, it would be terrible for me morally."
"Cats are left to their own devices on the streets, victims of hunger, contagious diseases and many other dangers, they are suffering in the streets of Morocco...
Most of the kittens have been infected with coryza, they are weakened and emaciated. If the campaign fails, and I have nothing left to feed these street cats, they will become even sicker, develop infections that will spread among all the cats in the neighbourhood...
I feel great sadness for them. Without kibble, I won't be able to continue my action, I won't be able to help them."
"Ricky was born on the street and has suffered from chronic diarrhoea since birth. As I don't have a shelter, I can't take him in because there's no room. I am giving him treatment to make him better but without proper nutrition it is hopeless.
He is already very thin and fragile, but he has lost weight again... He may die if he doesn't eat properly. I am afraid he will get other infections or diseases... His life is in danger!"
"I try to save as many cats as possible, despite the lack of resources and donations, but I feel unable to keep on feeding them due to the lack of funding and the rise in abandonment.
I try to fund my support by selling pet supplies, but the little I earn will never cover all the expenses related to rescue.
The pandemic has affected us and is still affecting us, which is the main reason why donations have stopped. I am currently drowning in debt, I am morally exhausted, this campaign is my only shred of hope."
"I started feeding stray cats in Temara in 2014, I sacrificed my time, energy and money for the welfare of these cats. I have had a passion for cats since I was little.
I am the only one in Temara who looks after the welfare of these cats, in my presence no one can harm them. My action is indispensable because I feed the stray cats, I look after them, I vaccinate them...
It has never been easy to take care of a large number of cats without help and without donations, but the situation is getting worse, I really hope I can continue to save them."
Animal Webaction has a logistics platform in Morocco, which enables us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble.
"I can't find any organisation that can help me in Morocco, and those abroad don't deliver kibble to Morocco, so I'm at a dead end.
Straycare International is the only organisation that can help me with veterinary care and kibble, but they have already helped me with several bags recently, so they can't do much more.
I've tried to run online fundraisers before, but unfortunately it didn't work. I'm afraid for the coming weeks and months, everything depends on the kibble."
When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.
