"Right now I take care of 60 street cats, in addition to those in my shelter. I have had to say stop, I can't care for any new one anymore. It's very hard when you see the shape these cats are in, it's complicated to say no, but there are too many of them...
I only have one bag of kibble left, I don't have enough resources to buy more. These cats are left to their own devices, neglected or abandoned, exposed to malnutrition and disease. I fear they will get sick or starve to death if I can't feed them.
I am sad and stressed at this thought, I can't keep up, I need you more than ever."
"I have just taken little Lucky to the vet for treatment. This cat is very thin and vulnerable, he is suffering from both coryza and calicivirus.
He is shy and fearful, I'm worried he will lose weight or get infections, especially as I found him in the garbage! He needs to eat well and take vitamins to boost his immunity and get better: without kibble he doesn't stand a chance!"
"The number of cats on the street has increased, it started right after the lockdown: a lot of cats were abandoned and several kittens were born because of the lack of sterilisation.
The problem is that people see that cats are well treated in my shelter, so they now abandon their own cats on my doorstep! Because of this, I don't have enough resources to buy kibble for all the cats in my shelter, they are too many.
I am afraid that the health of the most fragile ones will worsen, and that the others, who at the moment are in good health, will become ill in turn."
"Poor Kika was thin and suffering from severe ringworm when I took her into the shelter. Her condition had improved, but for some time now I have observed that a new patch has appeared near her ear...
I am afraid that she will get new infections or that she will lose weight because of the lack of kibble... Considering her physical condition, I am very worried about her!"
"I am facing a financial dead end, I have 6 months of unpaid bills! The lack of donations is terrible and there are so many cats, I can't cope any more.
I'm doing the best I can, selling my own items to pay bills, but I can't manage everything on my own without help.
I have debts for kibble, for vet care, for medication... Despite the lack of resources, I am the first to act if I see a cat in distress, and I don't want to get to a stage where I have to stop everything for lack of means."
"My passion for pets led me to open the doors of my small shelter to help them live happy and healthy lives. The welfare of the cats is my top priority and a responsibility I do not compromise with. I stopped working so that I could take care of them...
My action is indispensable because I am the only one who takes care of the cats in my neighbourhood. I help them by providing them the necessary care, and by seeing to their spaying and neutering to limit their proliferation, but today I can no longer face this situation alone because the costs of my shelter are increasing day by day.
Without your help, I won't be able to make it, I won't be able to save them!"
Animal Webaction has a logistical platform in Morocco, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble.
"I've tried everything: online fundraising, asking for food donations in supermarkets, social media announcements, nothing works. I only have two or three donors who help me from time to time, and the association Straycare International whose support means a lot to me, but it is a small association and its means are limited.
This global drop in donations due to the health crisis has become a problem for many shelters...
Today, I can only rely on Animal Webaction and the generosity of its community to save cats in need!"
When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the collected products, the beneficiary receives nothing and the buyers get a refund...
