1. In Serbia, Snezana and Natalija will soon run out of kibble to feed the 181 dogs in their shelter. They will starve if nobody helps them!

%%%

"More and more people are abandoning their dogs at the doors of our shelter and we don't have the heart to turn them away, the life of wandering outside is far too difficult. The problem is that the more dogs there are, the more the costs multiply and we can no longer keep up with this. Today we have to feed 181 dogs in total, that's a huge amount of kibble and we can't afford it anymore...

Because we only have five days of kibble left in stock, we had thought of reducing the dogs' daily portions, but it is already getting very cold here in Serbia and the dogs need to eat more to maintain their body temperature and survive the sub-zero temperatures of winter....

If this campaign fails, our dogs may get sick, fight, or worse, starve to death... We are willing to do anything to save them and provide them with even a minimum of food to survive, we need your help to save them!"

2. Without kibble, Snezana and Natalija fear the dogs will not survive the freezing Serbian winter!

###

"Winter is coming in Serbia, and temperatures have already dropped significantly. Even if the dogs are protected from the rain in their boxes, they still live outside, so they need as much energy as possible to survive the cold, and that means feeding them more than usual!

If the dogs were to go hungry, many of them could get sick more easily...  This is something we really don't want to see happen, we are very attached to these dogs and we only want good things for them. Unfortunately, our stock of kibble is running out in a few days and we have no way of buying more.

It is frightening to be in this situation, because we don't know if we will be able to feed our dogs this winter, we will have to choose which dogs to feed and which ones to ration... It's just impossible, we love them so much it would be a real heartbreak!"

3. Already weakened by a parasitic disease, Lola will not survive without kibble...

###

"We found Lola on the street a year ago, she was such in a bad shape that we decided to take her with us to the shelter. We have managed to heal most of her injuries, but she still has the same internal parasitaric disease (demodex) which is attacking her immune system.

If we stop giving Lola kibble, her condition may get worse, as medication without good nutrition is useless... We are worried about her, because she is already so skinny that her life would be endangered by a lack of food.

She is a scared dog and if the dogs were to fight over a few kibbles, she would not be able to defend herself... She needs this campaign to succeed!

4. Snezana's and Natalija's income have been severely impacted by the pandemic and their debts have accumulated: they can no longer buy kibble.

###

"The difficulties associated with the pandemic are still very visible. More and more people are abandoning their pets because they can no longer afford to look after them, leading to an increase in the number of dogs on the streets who will not cope because they are not used to fending for themselves in the wild...

The more needy dogs there are, the more kibble we need. The problem is that the kibble supplier no longer allows us to buy on credit, so we had to do everything we could to pay our debts quickly. But without donations, we can't place a new order... On top of that, we still have a lot of overdue payments to the veterinary clinic that takes care of our dogs. It's a never-ending cycle...

We are the only two people to take care of the shelter, our former employee does not come anymore, only our families and friends help us sometimes, but the daily life is extremely busy with only two of us. We have no time to maintain a personal life, we are mentally and physically exhausted, we need help!"

5. Snezana and Natalija are not asking for money, only kibbles to feed the dogs.

###

"Our hope is that people's attitudes towards stray dogs will change in the future, so we will have fewer animals to rescue, and this will allow us to provide better living conditions for our dogs. Unfortunately this is not yet the case, as stray dogs are considered dangerous vermin.

Nevertheless, our greatest pride is to have succeeded in caring for, feeding and adopting many dogs, to see them finally happy in a loving family. Our fear is that one day we will have to close the shelter because we can no longer feed them. But that day has not yet arrived, we will continue to fight so that the dogs have a chance to live a better life!

If we work together we can do it, that's why we really need this campaign to succeed!"

6. If this campaign succeeds, Snezana and Natalija will not receive any money but 2000 kg of kibbles, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Serbia.

Animal Webaction has a logistics platform directly in Serbia, which enables us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

7. Snezana and Natalija keep asking for help, in vain. This campaign is their last hope!

"No one ever comes to help us at the shelter, we can only rely on ourselves. Luckily we have family members who visit us whenever they can, but that's not enough: running a shelter is a full-time job!

Our friend Monika helps us a lot with the neutering of the dogs, her help is invaluable, we wouldn't be able to manage without her. We also managed to adopt a dog recently thanks to an English association. The problem is that none of the organisations we have contacted can help us find kibble, they are overwhelmed by the calls for help from shelters like ours.

We do get a few donations from time to time, but we have to cover the vast majority of the shelter's costs. With all our personal expenses, we simply cannot afford to buy more kibble!"

8. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.
