Animal Webaction visited the site 14 December 2021 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Sally is running out of kibble to feed the many street dogs cared for by her association. They will starve if no one helps!

%%%

"We've been able to spay and neuter almost 3000 dogs from the streets of Tangier since we started our TNVT (Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, Tag) in 2016. It's amazing to see we've been able to affect so many lives for the better, but our efforts don't just stop there, these dogs still need our help on a daily basis to remain well and healthy.

Unfortunately, as a charity, we have been getting less donations, we have no money and our food stocks are empty. We really struggle to provide for the street dogs and they can't find food on their own either, COVID has affected everyone, restaurants have closed, there is less garbage...The situation is really difficult.

Winter is almost there, the dogs will need to eat well and eat more to survive and make a big coat for the cold weather. We do not want any dog to be hungry or in bad health and it makes me sick physically and mentally to think that this is the case for some of them already..."

2. Black narrowly escaped being killed... Now neutered and under Sally's protection, he won't be able to make it on his own if she can't bring him any more food.

###

"Black is a 5-year-old dog who was born on the streets. He was almost shot by the authorities but luckily he escaped and we caught him, sterilized him and now he has his lucky yellow tag on the ear, hopefully keeping him safe.

Black is a very friendly dog, he is used to life on the streets and wouldn't be happy in the shelter. That being said, just like so many other street dogs, he depends on us for survival. We have to be able to continue taking care of him so he can remain happy in his environment.

the lack of food could lead to health problems for him and maybe death if it lasts too long..."

3. At Sally's sanctuary, 450 vulnerable dogs are also threatened with starvation!

%%%

"All the dogs that are in the sanctuary are there because they were injured, in poor health, or somewhat vulnerable in the first place. We have 450 dogs today and there's always new ones in distress, I believe this shows the magnitude of the problem...

Sadly, our means are limited, we only have a few bags of food left for the dogs at the shelter. They barely eat enough, some of them have diarrhea, others are developing health issues. We desperately need this food! Failing is not an option, we must arrive at our goal...

These dogs are my babies, they are amazing souls and certainly make the world a better place. Now that they're at the sanctuary, it's our duty to keep them well fed and happy. Having this campaign will be a great Christmas present for my dogs and the one they need the most."

4. Scratchy was recently found in the street, skinny and sick. Without kibble, her recovery will be in jeopardy.

###

"Scratchy is a 7-month-old female we rescued from the street a couple of weeks ago. No one was taking care of her before we found her, which caused her to have a wide array of health problems. She suffers from terrible malnutrition and parasitic diseases. Sadly, she also suffers from skin allergies.

Now under our care at the shelter, we need to be able to provide her a qualitative diet otherwise her skin condition will never get better, her immune system will continue to weaken, and she can eventually die... Having food will also help us gain her trust, she has been terrified and shy since she arrived at the sanctuary. She needs some much deserved care and attention."

5. Donations have dropped drastically since the pandemic, since many donors have lost their jobs. With debts piling up, Sally has no money to buy kibble.

###

"We are constantly begging people on social media to help us cover food bills, vet bills etc... It does work but sadly we are not getting enough donations. In fact, many people have reached out to us to let us know they have lost their jobs and can no longer help...

We understand and we are so grateful to these people, because we got this far thanks to every person who donated. But unfortunately there are 600 animals at the sanctuary who need us, and around a thousand in the streets. The expenses are huge and it's impossible for us to finance everything with only a few donations.

We have big debts at the vet and we haven't been able to pay our last food bill. I have already sold my home and business in England... At this stage, I need all the help I can get to continue protecting the animals who count on me."

6. Sally isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving!

###

"I started getting involved with my sister in Tangier, we started helping the strays - taking them to the vet to be neutered, vaccinated, and treated. Just after rescuing more than 50 animals, we needed more space, so we found a piece of land and moved 23km outside of Tangier.

Over the years, we grew and the sanctuary has now become to hundreds of animals, among which dogs, cats, equines...We do our best to offer a forever loving home to all the animals that come into our care.

We are recognized worldwide for the work we do. We have changed mindsets, we are teaching people love and care for animals. My hope is to be able to make Tangier rabbies free and an example to follow for animal friendliness in Africa."

7. If this campaign succeeds, Sally will not receive any money but 4000 kg of kibble, delivered from the Animal Webaction logistic platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistics center in Morocco, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble.

8. Contacts with international foundations have not solved the lack of kibble, Sally cannot feed her dogs without this campaign.

"Animal rescue is beautiful but sadly, very expensive... We are lucky enough to be helped by a few foreign organisations who help us financially or with sterilizations whenever possible but this help is not constant, so we rely on donations almost entirely to help us fonction.

Sadly the whole world is asking for help at the moment. I’m hoping that the COVID situation will improve and we will receive more donations because we're really struggling. I can’t thank enough all the people who will decide to help us through this Animal Webaction campaign."

9. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

10. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibble, many dogs remain starving on the street!
