Animal Webaction visited the site 13 December 2021 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Hanane will soon run out of kibble to feed the dozens of street dogs in her care. They will starve if no one does anything!

%%%

"The number of dogs on the streets has increased, which means an increase in expenses in terms of food, vaccination and sterilisation because I never leave a sick dog to suffer on the street, I prefer to treat it on credit than to leave it to suffer alone.

The association is in the midst of a financial crisis, we finance the majority of the association's expenses through loans. God only knows how much this Animal Webaction collection will help us! I only have a few days of croquettes left, after that I have no solution to feed the dogs...

This fundraiser is definitely my only hope: if it fails, I will be depressed and torn thinking about my dogs not eating enough, it will affect my mental and physical health. I fear that the dogs will get worse or some of them will die because of the lack of kibble..."

2. Layka is already weakened by a disease and has to eat kibble to continue nursing her pupies.

###

"Layka is a stray dog who has just had babies. I can't take her to the shelter because I don't have room and certainly not enough kibble to feed her properly... She suffers from mange, which already weakens her a lot and makes her very thin: if I stop giving her kibble then she risks losing even more weight...

I'm afraid she will get worse or catch other infections and diseases because she is so vulnerable. She needs to eat well not only for her health but also for the health of her cubs and so she can nurse them, they too can get sick if their mother doesn't eat!"

3. At Hanane's shelter, 176 dogs rescued from the street and from abandonment are also threatened by the lack of kibble.

%%%

"In the shelter, the dogs fight all the time, the stronger ones eat the weaker ones' food. The situation is catastrophic, I have dogs that suffer from mange and are weakened by the lack of kibble. The kibble clearly plays a role in preventing infection by boosting the dogs' immunity. I suppose that if my dogs were well fed, they would not be affected by mange or other contagious infections...

For some time now, the males have become more aggressive and seek to dominate, the stronger ones eat the food of the weaker dogs. My biggest fear is about the health of my dogs, I am afraid that the lack of kibble will cause them other diseases or that they will starve to death. I am so scared for my dogs!"

4. Poor Linda is recovering from a major surgery: paralysed for life, she needs food to survive!

###

"When I found Linda in the street, she was skinny and very aggressive... She was hit by a car, and although I took her immediately to the vet for emergency treatment, she will be disabled for life. Despite the operation she is still in pain and cannot walk, both her back legs are paralysed. Linda's health is poor, she could get worse if she doesn't eat well, especially as the other dogs eat her food, because they are hungry too!"

5. Donations and adoptions have been at their lowest for months, Hanane is struggling to keep her action afloat, but she can no longer buy kibble.

###

"I'm in the middle of a crisis, I'm knocking on every door to save my shelter, I'm not receiving any subsidies, I even applied again to the prefecture for help... But no answer! My vet gives me free sterilisations every Friday, which helps me a lot but unfortunately it's not enough... All the other bills I pay on credit.

I can't afford to buy kibble, I used to give them leftover food but it's a temporary solution because it's not a good quality food, kibble is more beneficial for dogs.

Because of the health crisis, even the few people who used to donate to us have stopped helping us because they have also been very affected. Because the association is in financial crisis, I will have to dismiss one of the two guardians... This situation saddens me enormously. I can't go on without donations, I really need help to run the shelter."

6. Hanane is not asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.

###

"I have sacrificed my money, time and energy for this shelter, I have been fighting alone for my shelter and my dogs for over 10 years. I feel a great sadness for these animals, I don't like to see them in this state, I try to do my best to give them a good life.

In the long term, I am afraid of the future of the shelter, I am afraid that I will not be able to cope with all these problems, I hope to find partners to help me to continue my actions. We need people's support because our shelter depends mostly on donations, without the help of donors I would have been forced to close the shelter a long time ago, I encourage everyone to donate and support us, without you our shelter is worth absolutely nothing."

7. If this campaign succeeds, Hanane will not receive any money but 2500 kg of kibbles, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Morocco which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles throughout the country.

8. Despite her efforts, Hanane does not receive enough support to meet the needs of abandoned dogs, she needs this campaign to feed the dogs.

"I am alone in fighting for these dogs, I receive very little help. The association 'Animals in Danger' sends me 450 dh per quarter, but this is not enough to cover all the costs of the shelter. I have tried to contact organisations but to no avail, they do not deliver kibble to Morocco.

I am overwhelmed with debt and the stress of not being able to find a solution to feed the dogs. The cash flow will not be enough, if I pay for the kibble I will not be able to pay the rent and the caretaker. I really need this campaign to succeed, otherwise the dogs are doomed..."

9. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

Liste des récoltes échouées

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the collected products, the beneficiary receives nothing and the buyers get a refund.

10. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find fundings for kibbles, many dogs remain starving in the streets !
