Animal Webaction visited the site 27 February 2022 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Romania, Andreea will soon run out of kibble to feed the 59 puppies under her care. If no one does anything, they might starve!

%%%

"I do my best to save as many street puppies as possible: I sterilise and vaccinate them immediately before they reproduce. Until now, I had managed to reduce the number of stray dogs in my area, but since the pandemic, and now the war on our doorstep, people are abandoning their pets en masse...

Today, I have 59 puppies in my care, the Town Hall only gives me a few kilos of kibble a month, and donations and adoptions have been practically nil since Covid, a situation that has worsened since the start of the war in Ukraine... I am forced to refuse to take in more needy puppies because I cannot afford to feed them!

I never have enough kibble, I spend my time looking for kibble for the same day, all my salary goes into it and I have no savings. I can't afford to buy any more, I don't even dare to think what would happen to my dogs if I had no more kibble to feed them... This situation is getting more and more difficult, I am afraid for them, I need this campaign to succeed!"

2. Sick or injured, the shelter's puppies are too fragile to survive without kibble...

###

"As the shelter is in the countryside, there are a lot of ticks at the moment and the puppies are prone to illness and infection. The puppies in my care are sick or injured when I take them in, many are on medication: they all need a healthy, stable diet to have a chance of living!

The problem is that puppy food is very expensive! As I have very little money since I don't have any more donations, I have to buy them cheap food. Unfortunately, I notice that the puppies can't stand it, they have already started to have allergic reactions...

I always try not to run out of food, but I've run out of solutions and I'm afraid that this will happen soon. It is very important to feed the puppies so that they grow up healthy!"

3. Traumatized by his past, which has left marks all over his body, Brownie needs kibble to survive!

###

"When I found Brownie in a rubbish bin, his body was covered in scars... I can't even imagine the trauma he must have suffered before being thrown away like that! Since he has been at the shelter, he is slowly recovering, but he is still very fragile and needs to eat quality kibble to have a chance of survival. I am afraid for him, as he really deserves to find a loving family, not to die hungry..."

4. Andreea does not receive any subsidies and the donations have almost disappeared for several months: her savings are gone, she cannot buy any more kibble!

###

"I am always looking for donations to feed my puppies, I spend my time looking for kibble... I regularly call on acquaintances who have already helped us in the past but they too have already done their utmost and can no longer help me.

I already manage all the expenses of the shelter with my own income, every veterinary bill is paid with my savings, but I have nothing left to buy kibble. Before the pandemic I used to receive regular donations and I was able to feed the dogs, but now I receive nothing: I am afraid I will run out of food soon...

The 30 kilos sent monthly by the Town Hall are not enough, there are many puppies and they need more and better food. It's getting harder and harder to look after the shelter and so many dogs on my own, but if I give up they won't have a chance to survive!"

5. Andreea isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the puppies from starving!

###

"When this shelter was created 6 years ago, I never imagined I would bring so much happiness to so many dogs. I am proud of the hundreds of dogs that have been rescued, sterilised and adopted! I sincerely hope that the mentality of my country will change, that people will understand how important sterilisation is, and that animals are precious beings who only want to be respected and loved.

I dream that one day there will be no more dogs on the streets or in shelters. I dream that there will be no more mistreatment or abandonment. I will do my utmost to fight until the end to make things change!"

6. If this campaign succeeds, Andreea will not receive any money but 1800 kg of junior kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistic platform in Romania.

Animal Webaction has a logistic platform in Romania, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibbles.

7. Overwhelmed by animals in distress and lacking support, Andreea needs this campaign to succeed to get kibble!

"Two associations are supporting us abroad 'Inima' and 'SOS-Strassentiere'. Unfortunately they have already done their best, and no organisation can help us in Romania... I spend my time calling for help on social networks, collecting kibble in supermarkets, making people aware of our situation but without much success...

I'm always looking for kibble and I go through all possible means. Today, I have no solution left, this campaign is my last hope to get kibble and save the puppies!"

8. Actions launched on Animal Webaction often fail.

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The organizer doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

9. In Romania, it is difficult to find funds for kibbles, there are no aid, no grants, no foundation... Many abandoned dogs die alone in the streets, in complete indifference...
