1. In Romania, Luminita will soon run out of kibble to feed the 186 dogs at her shelter. They will starve if no one intervenes!
"Abandonments have increased a lot lately: on the streets, dogs are starving, and die of disease or abuse... I would like to save more dogs, but between the lack of kibble, the lack of money and the lack of space in the shelter, I don't have the resources to help them all. When I have enough kibble, I go and feed the street dogs, but as I have already halved the ration of the dogs in the shelter I can't help the strays anymore!
I don't get much help, only a few donations which are extremely rare and not enough to feed all the dogs, especially as adoptions have fallen drastically and abandonments are increasing. I have a few bags of kibble left today that will only last 2 days: my only hope of feeding my dogs is that this campaign succeeds!"
2. Fights over kibble often happen when dogs are hungry: this campaign is Luminita's last hope to avoid a massacre!
"Getting enough kibble for all the dogs is a real issue. I have already reduced the kibble rations by half at the shelter, and this for several days now: I can see that the dogs are not eating enough and are starting to get restless... Their health depends on their food, if the situation lasts too long they will get sick or die of hunger!
What also worries me a lot is that at this time of the year we are invaded by ticks: they bring diseases and the dogs are weakened... The lack of kibble would be fatal for them! I want at all costs to avoid that they have an empty stomach because they will become even more aggressive and fights will break out in the shelter! The situation is very worrying, I am glad that Animal Webaction and its community are willing to help us because this campaign is our last chance to prevent dogs from killing each other!"
3. Charmant must eat kibble to overcome his illness.
"I saved Charmant in a field, he was very weakened by a disease... After rescuing him immediately, I did my best to take care of him: I still give him his medicine every day so that he can finally be in good health. Unfortunately, if he is not properly cared for and fed, he has a great chance of dying, because without nutrients, his medication will not work.... I desperately need kibble, I wish more than anything that he lives and can finally find a loving family to adopt him... !"
4. As donations dried up and debts mounted, Luminita found herself unable to buy kibble.
"As persistent as I am and as hard as I fight for dogs in distress, I am exhausted that the number of abandonments has doubled! There are too many stray dogs in distress to save, and so many other sick dogs to care for at the shelter... With the few donations I get, I can't cope on my own.
Before the pandemic, there were not so many dogs, I used to go to restaurants to get food and I received enough to feed them all. Now there are far too many for me to feed on my own! In addition, the war in Ukraine has greatly impacted the cost of living, I can no longer get by alone...
Until today, the only solution I found was to go into debt with the vet and the kibble supplier, but this solution cannot continue, I might not be able to buy on credit any more! I'm trying as hard as I can to raise awareness among the local population via Facebook posts but it's not working: my only hope is to get the necessary kibble thanks to the success of this campaign!"
5. Luminita isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving!
"When the association was created in 2009, I simply wanted to help people sterilise animals. Then, in 2018, I decided to create a small shelter to take in the most fragile dogs. With the increase in abandonment, my shelter has since reached its maximum capacity... Unfortunately, there are still many dogs in danger on the streets, but I don't have the resources to save them!
I'm still very proud of what I've achieved, because I know I'm making a difference! My main achievement is to be able to save animals that would have no chance of surviving on the streets alone. I know that without my help, some dogs would be dead right now..."
6. If this campaign succeeds, Luminita will not receive any money but 3000 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistic platform in Romania.

"The financial situation of the association is very difficult, only a few people bring a bag of kibble from time to time, but this is very rare. In Romania, I have no collaboration, no partnership, and I can't find any adopters... Even if I try to organize online fundraising or post on Facebook to raise awareness about the treatment of stray dogs, it doesn't work. I can only do so much and I'm running out of options!
Fortunately, the French association "Les Anges de Lumi" supports me, but they too have reached the end of their means to help me feed the dogs. I'm counting on this campaign because it is vital, the lack of kibble would be a catastrophe! We absolutely need your help to continue to give these poor souls a second chance..."
