Animal Webaction visited the site 17 February 2023 and confirms the situation described below.
"With my association, we take care of more than 94 dogs in different places. Their existence is already hard enough and alas, the situation is becoming worse for them: several districts are asking for the hungry dogs to be picked up and put down! Despite our efforts to sterilise and vaccinate, and even though we do our best to protect the dogs and feed them, it is becoming increasingly difficult...
Most of the dogs are very thin and very sick; but with inflation and my limited resources, it is difficult to provide them with adequate care and food! Unfortunately I don't have enough kibble left to feed them sufficiently... I only have enough for 5 days, even with rationing. I can now only feed them once a day, every other day, mainly by mixing the kibble with bread or leftovers!
They suffer from digestive problems, and are also very agitated and aggressive because of hunger ! With Ramadan coming up, restaurants and shops will close: these dogs won't be able to find anything to eat and I fear for their survival. Every day, they wait for me, same time, same place, even when I have nothing to give them! It makes me cry... I have a very strong bond with them, I feel their pain and their pleading looks break my heart! If I can't find any kibble, the dogs will starve and the authorities will eventually put them down..."
"Siri is a seven year old female... She has had many litters and suffers from advanced mange! I worry about her health as she feeds very little when I can't give her kibble - the leftovers don't suit her at all and I can see her weakening!
Siri is very sensitive and calm, but unfortunately she has been abused at the local pound and is still very shy of humans. If she is deprived of kibble, Siri is in great danger as she needs food to stay alive despite her advanced age."
"At the moment, we have 42 dogs in the shelter and their number is still increasing... The lack of resources and donations are real obstacles to caring for and feeding my dogs. I have no choice but to ration their portions of kibble... They don't eat their fill, even if I mix the kibble with a bit of leftovers to compensate!
This diet is not adapted to their needs at all: they are exhausted from the lack of kibble, they suffer from diarrhoea and get weak - they fall ill easily! What really worries me is the fights that ensue... They fight for food and I'm afraid it will get worse!
I have been feeling totally lost and helpless for weeks now; it is the worst thing to see my babies fighting over a tiny handful of kibble! If this kibble campaign fails, the consequences will be disastrous for the dogs: they will be starving, sick and fighting ever more violently to survive!"
"Azia is a young dog, one and a half years old, that I found lost on the road, extremely thin and full of fleas and ticks... Her attitude suggests that she has been mistreated, as she is very wary... The pack at the shelter has not yet integrated her and she can easily get caught in fights!
As she is submissive, the others won't let her eat and she can't gain weight to be healthy. She really needs the success of this campaign, as I could make sure she eats her fill!"
"In the past, I had a few donors who supported my actions and this helped me to cover the costs for the dogs... However, for the last 3 years, the economic difficulties are adding up for everyone, people can't donate like they used to... My small salary doesn't allow me to cover all the expenses for the dogs by myself!
It's a good thing we can maintain the most urgent care thanks to our awesome vet! But some sterilisation operations can't be done, because of the lack of money... I've got a lot of debts, whether it's the rent of the shelter's land, the vet or the kibble supplier...
Everything has increased and donations, whether occasional or monthly, have become too minimal to enable us to finance the kibble for the dogs... The shelter is therefore in a very precarious situation and we have no partner organisation to help us... This campaign is really all I have left to be able to feed my dogs and save them from starvation!"
"My first pet was the catalyst for my sensitivity to the animal cause... After his death, more than eight years ago, I decided to dedicate my life to helping animals! With the association, we managed to reduce the number of cases of rabies among street dogs by vaccinating most of them. This kind of success makes me happy and motivates me! But I am still deeply touched and horrified by the treatment of stray dogs in my city: the municipality deals with the issue of street dogs by opting for mass slaughter...
We are trying to find agreements with the city to set up sterilisation and vaccination programmes for stray dogs, but without success for the moment... I would so much like people to help us stop the slaughters and sterilise and vaccinate the stray dogs. What keeps me going is the love and respect I have for them! Feeding the dogs is my happiest moment of the day... It is so wonderful to see them so cheerful! I won't get over it if I can't feed them anymore, I'll fall into depression knowing I can't ensure their survival anymore..."

"We are 4 volunteers, 2 of whom are in charge of posting on social networks... I haven't received any help recently in terms of sponsors, partnerships or material help... It's discouraging to not feel much support. Animals are not a priority here, which makes it more difficult to find potential partners.
My personal resources go directly to the animals in my care and I can't do it alone! I don't travel or enjoy life, but I am happy to be able to give a better life to animals in need. That's why I'm counting on people and animal lovers who are willing to make this kibble campaign a success, because it will really help us save the dogs' lives!"
When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products, the beneficiary does not receive anything and the buyers are refunded.
