"With my illness taking over, I can't do collections in the stores anymore. I have found a volunteer to help me with the feeding rounds, but as she works full time, she can't spare any more time to do in-store collections. I need to find a solution urgently, as I have nothing left in stock to feed the 120 street cats who rely on me!
The few donated kibble we receive are the cheapest. I also try to buy some kibble with my own money, but it is not enough to cover 7 feeding sites. So I have to ration the cats a lot, and give them pasta to supplement. But this diet is not suitable for them, and many of them start to weaken and get sick... They will eventually starve to death if we don't do anything!"
"With rising prices, the situation is becoming financially distressing. Donations are falling sharply, because people can't cope. Personally, I only have 900 euros a month to live on. Sometimes I have to last two weeks with only 50 euros... It's impossible to feed all the cats in these conditions!
Before, I used to do art work and garage sales to make ends meet and keep the association afloat, but now my health prevents me from doing so. I am currently in debt to the vet and have also had to stop getting the cats identified and sterilised. I am trying to collect the leftovers from the school canteens for the cats, but it is not enough. The current situation is slowly killing my association! Who will take care of the free cats if we can't?"
"Boulette is an elderly cat, who was abandoned when he was very young. Since then, the poor thing has always lived on the streets. Unfortunately, he caught cat AIDS there, a disease that makes him immunologically vulnerable. He often gets coryza! His nose starts to run and he coughs a lot, which makes him very tired.
With hyperthyroidism, he also has a tendency to have a sticky fur and to lose weight. Without kibble to regain his strength, his condition is likely to deteriorate even further... Until a virus finally kills him!"
"Since 2010, when the association was founded, I have never experienced such a difficult period. In 1995, I was already working hard to get the street cats identified and sterilised. I have dedicated my life to them, and even if my health deteriorates, I will continue to fight for them!
But the situation is such that I can't sleep at night. My appeals for donations have gone unanswered. If this kibble campaign is not successful, I will have nothing to give to the free cats! The situation will only get worse, until I can no longer do anything for them..."
