1. In Morocco, Hanane is running out of kibble to feed her shelter's 185 dogs. They will starve if no one helps!
"The shelter is full, I have 185 dogs at the moment, their number has increased because people are abandoning them more and more. They come here wounded, disabled, injured... My shelter allows them to live far from the violence and torture that some stray dogs experience almost daily.
Unfortunately, we are in a bind: between the increase in prices, the greater number of dogs and the decrease in donations, I find myself unable to buy kibble! I have already reduced the portions I give them as much as possible, but even so I only have a few bags of kibble left, which will only feed the dogs for a couple of days.
It's difficult, because these dogs depend only on me, no one will feed them if I don't. I can't sleep at night, if this campaign doesn't work, they won't get any kibble and risk starvation!"
2. The dogs are already not eating their fill, fights are breaking out: Hanane is afraid that the situation will get out of hand...
"The dogs are more aggressive because of the lack of kibble, they don't get enough to eat, so they fight among themselves. The most dominant ones impose themselves in order to be able to eat the biggest portions, which further reduces the quantity for the others...
I'm worried about my dogs' health, I'm afraid that the lack of kibble will weaken them or cause their death. I can't continue to help them without support, my shelter needs help!"
3. Already thin and weakened by cancer, Lolo is in vital need of kibble to make it through
"He was recently diagnosed with cancer, which requires chemotherapy. All this is affecting Lolo who has lost weight and also suffers from scabies which is not getting better, despite the treatments.
I'm worried about him, without kibble, his condition is likely to worsen rapidly..."
4. Donations are in free fall, while the cost of kibble continues to rise. Hanane is in debt and can no longer buy kibble!
"The current situation is really difficult. The price of kibble keeps going up, and at the same time we have a small treasury, which cannot keep up with this price increase. People are in crisis and can't help because of inflation, so we get less donations, but still have so many responsibilities and mouths to feed...
I already have hundreds of euros in debt at the vet's, I can't buy kibble or do operations, the lack of means is too great. I can't take in any more dogs because of the difficulties, so I continue to take care of the street dogs as best I can. Nobody takes care of them, they are exposed to accidents and diseases, it hurts my heart to see them suffer.
My work for abandoned dogs is vital, and I am determined to continue, but I need help to be able to do so."
5. Hanane isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.
"With my shelter, I offer these abandoned dogs a clean and safe environment where they can live while I find them a foster home. I also try to reduce the suffering of the street dogs by neutering them and feeding them. It is very difficult because all this requires time, energy and resources.
What revolts me is the carelessness of people, and especially their refusal to sterilise. Most of the dogs I rescue are not sterilised, although it is essential! We must try to do sterilisation campaigns to stop the proliferation of dogs and the spread of sexual diseases that affect stray dogs."
6. If this campaign succeeds, Hanane will not receive any money but 2000 kg of kibble, delivered from the Animal Webaction's logistics centre in Morocco.
