Animal Webaction visited the site 10 June 2023 and confirms the situation described below.
"In my shelter, 168 abandoned dogs seek shelter and security. I try to give them everything I can, but conditions are far from ideal. Reality is cruel, each day brings new faces marked by abandonment, increasing the pressure on already limited resources."
These past few days, the situation has become critical. The stock of kibble is dwindling before my eyes: there are only two days left, maybe even less. Yet every day, I am forced to ration their portions even more. The bellies of these poor animals echo with emptiness, and their hopeful gaze only tightens the knot of anxiety in my stomach."
The need is urgent, the worry is great, and helplessness grows every day. Debts accumulate, means to buy kibbles are cruelly lacking, but it is those dogs who pay the price. They did not ask to be in this situation, they did not deserve this. For them, each bag of kibble is their last hope, their last chance for survival. I do not know what tomorrow will bring, but I remain determined to fight for these animals, for they deserve more than what life has given them until now."
"If the kibble were to completely run out, the very lives of these 168 dogs would be at stake. They could starve to death, and this thought is unbearable. Constant hunger and lack of adequate nutrition are formidable foes. A dog without kibble is a dog that can get sick, that can weaken day by day."
The lack of kibble could worsen an already precarious situation. Malnutrition is already a scourge within the shelter, and without kibble, without this essential source of nutrients, the health of the dogs could quickly decline. Every day, I see them, I see their struggle, and I am frightened by the prospect of what could happen."
Without kibble, another danger looms. Pushed by hunger, dogs could become aggressive. This aggressiveness is not a choice for them, it is a question of survival. Such a situation would be a disaster for the shelter, for them, for me. Every day without kibble is a fight for survival, for their survival. It is a fight that I am not ready to give up, and yet, faced with this helplessness, fear invades me."
"Every day, I send out pleas for help, desperate pleas for donations of kibble. These messages often go unanswered. It's like throwing a bottle into the sea and waiting for someone to find it. It's a feeling of helplessness that grips the heart, an interminable wait that consumes hope little by little.
I've knocked on every door, tried to enlist the support of kibble suppliers, relentlessly solicited potential sponsors. Yet these attempts proved futile, like an echo lost in the void. Fund-raising campaigns to buy kibble failed to make an impact, leaving the bowls of my 168 dogs desperately empty.
The call for solidarity on social networks, a cry in the whirlwind of the digital world, is often ignored. It's an overwhelming realization, a loneliness that weighs heavily. Every day, every hour, every minute, the lack of kibble becomes more pressing, and the fear more present. It's an ongoing struggle, a struggle for the survival of my dogs, a struggle I'm not ready to give up."
"It's a hard reality to face: without kibble, my mission to save dogs is jeopardized. These little granules, insignificant to some, are the most pressing need right now. Their absence means imminent danger, a threat that grows closer with every passing hour.
The survival of my refuge is at stake. It's more than walls and a roof, it's a sanctuary for 168 dogs, their haven of peace. Every dog here has a story, a face, a personality. And they all have a vital need for kibble. Kibble is their life, their health, their strength. It's the key to the shelter's survival, the only way to guarantee their future. It's more than just a meal, it's a promise of tomorrow."
"The sadness of each abandoned dog is another wound in my heart. They arrive, their eyes filled with incomprehension and fear, and I'm there, powerless in the face of their pain. Animal suffering, the kind I see in their eyes, the kind I touch with my fingertips every day, is a harsh and bitter reality. And every dog that crosses the threshold of my shelter makes my task even harder.
Accumulating debts and mounting numbers add to my stress. The weight of this daily struggle, the fatigue weighing on my shoulders, is sometimes almost too much to bear. The magnitude of the task is daunting, but I can't allow myself to be overwhelmed.
I can't deny my disappointment at the lack of support. Every day, I hope to see the situation improve, I hope for a miracle. My optimism is put to the test every morning when I see all those faces counting on me. But I remember why I'm doing all this: for them, for these dogs. Their lives are at stake. So, despite the challenges, despite the tears, despite the fear, I keep fighting. For them. For every bag of kibble that gives them one more chance of survival."
