Nick is a 30 years old donkey, that we took in to prevent him from being slaughtered. As he has a lot of arthritis, he saves his energy and walks very little. Eventually, this may cause him to lose weight, which is never good at that age...
Nick's teeth are very damaged. Some of them had to be removed, and the other ones can't chew properly anymore.
Complementary food like pellets would be perfect to give Nick all the nutrients he needs to keep his weight.
We would make them into a soup or porridge, so he can ingest them without the risk of esophageal blockages. Since it's a quality food, maybe it would help reduce the inflammation in his joints.
We have been able to put some horses out to pasture, but others need pellets. Unfortunately, our stocks are at their lowest! We have to run on a day-to-day basis, buying them out of our own pocket... it can't last forever!
