Animal Webaction visited the site 08 October 2023 and confirms the situation described below.
"My stock of kibble is running out at an alarming rate, it will be totally exhausted in 3 days. I've been forced to reduce the portions I give to street cats for some time now to try and stretch the little I have left, and the kibble I have isn't good quality either... The distress of the cats is increasing and unfortunately I can't afford to buy any more.
The effects of the lack of kibble are serious and clearly visible: malnutrition is common, diseases are spreading and fights are breaking out between them. The future doesn't look much brighter if this shortage persists. The reality is stark and impossible to ignore: these animals depend on kibble for their survival. It's not just a question of hunger, it's a matter of life and death! The current shortage merely anticipates an even greater tragedy..."
"I can already see the devastating effects of the lack of kibble: the cats' immunity is weakening, they're more susceptible to disease and infection. And their behavior is starting to change: I find them more erratic, more difficult to approach for care... Without an immediate solution to replenish the kibble stock, I know that other very serious problems are on the horizon. Cats, driven by hunger, might venture out onto the roads, increasing the danger of accidents. Fights over food, already frequent, could turn into more serious territorial battles, leading to deaths.
Their precarious condition is worsening, and the anguish I feel for them is becoming almost unbearable. The total absence of kibble will have dramatic consequences, making their already difficult situation even more unbearable. I can't help thinking of the fate that awaits them if this campaign fails..."
"All my attempts to get help have failed. Pet food stores don't accept any flexibility, and appeals on social networks or announcements in dedicated groups haven't generated enough donations. I also try to raise funds by making and selling pet accessories, but this doesn't work well.
I've contacted several animal protection associations, but they can't help me either because they're already overloaded. My own savings have long since been swallowed up, but are still insufficient to meet the needs of all the cats who depend on me anyway.... My friends and family have tried to offer a little help, but unfortunately it's not enough either.
The current situation is tense and time is running out! The impending kibble shortage is serious and its impact on these cats is tangible. The next few days without kibble will worsen an already fragile situation, exacerbating the dangers these animals face. The grim reality is that their lives are at stake and I'm on the verge of helplessness..."
"The impending shortage of kibble jeopardizes my mission with street cats. It not only hampers their daily survival, but also jeopardizes any further efforts to improve their condition. I'm stuck; I can't concentrate on other essential aspects such as medical care or veterinary visits without first guaranteeing a continuous supply of kibble.
The harsh reality is that even opportunities for placement in loving homes are compromised. Who wants to adopt a malnourished cat? Without quality kibble, their general condition declines, making adoption less likely. Kibbles are the lifeblood of my volunteer work; without them, all the work I've done so far risks collapsing. Without kibble today, there is no tomorrow for these animals! Hunger will continue to undermine any attempt at improvement or rescue."
"I act for animals in conditions that are far from ideal. The limited means at my disposal make every day a challenge to provide street cats with kibble. And the economic problems specific to my country only aggravate the situation. Legislative measures for animal protection are insufficient or non-existent, and there is a lack of collective awareness of the condition of these cats. Despite these challenges and the often minimal recognition of my efforts, I can't stop; the urgency of each situation drives me on, even when fatigue sets in.
In this battle, even the slightest help can have a major impact. It's not just about me, but about the animals who depend entirely on my actions for their survival. I've managed to save many lives, but there's still a long way to go. And without proper support, all my efforts, however dedicated, risk coming up against an insurmountable wall."
