1. He has hyperthyroidism...

Cesar is a 14-year-old cat, who has hyperthyroidism (his body produces an excess of thyroid hormones). His eating and drinking patterns are abnormal. Thus, he requires medication every morning and evening to stabilise his condition.

2. Blankets would shield him from the winter cold

Having become vulnerable with age, Cesar needs more rest. With blankets, he would have a comfortable place to recuperate, while being well protected from the chilly weather.

3. I manage everything, on my own...

With the heat, animals become ill more easily and lose weight. This summer has been particularly challenging in this regard...

I manage everything by myself: it has now been 12 years since I started getting up at 5 am every morning, with no days off. There is no way I would leave animals in need to fend for themselves!
