Nina is a 3 or 4-year-old cat that we found outside in very poor condition. She was malnourished, exhausted, and dehydrated. Once at the veterinarian's, she needed to be put on an IV quickly.
It was also necessary to give Nina antibiotics (for an infection) and anti-inflammatories (to relieve the pain). The inside of her mouth is hurting her, potentially due to a calicivirus. Eating is a torment for her!
A daily diet of wet food would help keep Nina well hydrated. She could eat to her heart's content again without experiencing too much pain in her mouth. Being able to regularly regain strength would do her a world of good!
With summer, many animals have been neglected. Many kittens have been found outside, some of which have not yet been placed in foster homes.
Financially, the donations are not coming in. It's like crossing the desert, we have never seen anything like it!
