Animal Webaction visited the site 01 November 2023 and confirms the situation described below.
"My kibble stock is dangerously low; I only have enough to feed the cats for three days. I've already reduced the portions of kibble in order to extend the existing stock; but even though I'm trying to manage as best I can, resources are disappearing faster than I anticipated. The drop in donations we're experiencing is only exacerbating this crisis... And since my personal finances are limited, buying extra kibble is very difficult.
Some stray cats have started to fall ill as a result of the reduced portions of kibble. The impact of this impending shortage on the cats is tangible, and the idea of not being able to provide for them in the near future, worries me enormously. My nights are filled with worry for these animals who depend on me for their survival. This campaign represents my only hope of obtaining kibble quickly!"
"Our situation is serious. Street cats are already falling ill, and if the kibble shortage continues, I fear they will become even weaker and more vulnerable. I fear significant weight loss in the colonies, and the onset of serious pathologies. Kibble are used for much more than feeding these stray cats; they are an effective means of approaching them for medical care and sterilization. In their absence, these interventions are particularly complicated, as street cats are very wary!
At the shelter, the recovery of sick cats is compromised without kibble, and the intake of new cats is limited, leaving even more animals in distress without assistance... It's a vicious circle! The importance of kibble in stabilizing the cat populations I assist is undeniable. It's a race against time... I hope with all my heart that this campaign will be successful, because it's our only chance of experiencing a little respite!"
"I appealed to the generosity of animal lovers by sharing on social networks the alarming situation of our shelter and the stray cats in the region. The responses, while touching, have not been sufficient and the meager contributions received barely cover the purchase of kibble. Even when I extended my requests to organizations on an international scale, the results were disappointing.
The management of veterinary care and the settlement of related debts are putting a strain on our budget, making the purchase of kibble even more complicated. All my efforts to remedy this critical situation have so far failed to bear fruit. Stocks are dwindling and the prospect of a kibble shortage is a worrying reality.
The cats, whether in the shelter or on the streets, rely on me for their sustenance. The lack of kibble is hampering their survival, and to see their condition deteriorate is heartbreaking. You can see the gravity of the situation in their eyes, and this helplessness is a terribly heavy burden for me to bear."
"The shortage of kibble at our shelter is drastically limiting our efforts to help the cats. The impact is immediate: for lack of kibble, we are unable to take in new boarders. These animals, wandering without shelter, remain without help. Our ability to maintain the health of the cats already in our care also suffers. As food is an essential component of their recovery, the lack of kibble is hampering all our rehabilitation programs.
The situation forces us to constantly ask for help, reducing our effectiveness in the vital work we do. To plan long-term rescues and care, a guaranteed supply of kibble is crucial. Without it, stray cats remain vulnerable, as effectively rescuing these little lives requires, above all, being able to feed them.
The current shortage of food means that we are constantly on the lookout, not for ways to improve the situation, but simply to maintain it. The dramatic consequences of such a lack resonate in every cat's pleading eyes, and in our hearts, which know that we could do more, if only we had kibble."
"I devote myself body and soul to abandoned cats of Morocco, often left to fend for themselves on the streets. This mission, which takes up all my time and energy, is for me a great responsibility towards these defenseless beings. In addition to saving them, I also fight against the indifference and ignorance that surround their situation.
This quest is often a solitary one. I often find myself working alone on behalf of these vulnerable animals. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed, confronted by the limits of my isolated action. However, despite the hardships, I know that saving even a single cat is a victory. The grateful looks on the faces of the cats I manage to rescue, fed and safe, are my greatest reward."
