1. In Serbia, Vesna is nearly out of kibble to feed the 300 dogs in her shelter. They'll starve if no one helps them!
"We have a lot of dogs in the shelter, although some died recently from old age, a couple of new ones were rescued. The situation is bad, we need food.
We started to reduce the amount we give them 20 days ago so it could last longer, but we only have three bags of kibble left right now. Not being able to find kibble is something that I am afraid of every day.
I hope for the best, I need this campaign to succeed for my dogs to have something to eat, and for the dogs on the street that I couldn't take into the shelter. Right now, we try to survive day by day. It is sad, but it’s reality."
2. Vesna's shelter is home to many old and disabled dogs: already fragile, they won't survive a kibble shortage!
"Here, we mostly have old dogs and dogs without paws, legs… Dogs that couldn’t survive on the street on their own. Most of them are blind or handicaped. They are poor souls, they didn’t deserve to be kicked, they need food. They din’t asked to be put on the street upon arriveal to this world.
Due to the lack of food, they are becoming nervous and louder. If you leave them alone they can fight with each other over food, they could start biting each other, it could become really bad.
I'm begging you to find food for them, if we don't get kibble I'd be completely hopeless."
3. Struggling with debts and with fragile health, Vesna can no longer find kibble, this campaign is her last hope.
"I go to the pet shop every friday, saturday and sunday to ask for donations and food. We manage to gather a few bags of bread and sometimes some kibble, but it is not enough. We also collect used cans of food to sell them for some extra money, but it is a very small amount. I used to ask for donations on the streets as well, but the police forbid us to do so.
Serbia as a country doesn't give anything to support us, I am sad to live in a country that doesn't care about its dogs. We have a debt of more than 2000 euros at the vet already, it is really sad but it is true, we cannot go on like this.
I don ‘t think about me, all I care about is them. I have cancer on metastasis, I am less important than all of these dogs. If it wasn't for the campaigns organised on Animal Webaction, I really do not know how we could manage it."
4. Vesna is not asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.
"For me every dog I save matters, it is only positive, it counts more than all the other difficulties. I've saved a lot of lives and put a lot of them into good homes over the years. We have a lot of photos showing how happy they are at their new home. I love all animals, and believe that if a small percentage of people behaved better with animals, we would be happier altogether.
We need support from all good people around the world, I am always saying that my doors are always open for that kind of people, those who adore life and life in other beings.
5. If this campaign succeeds, Vesna will not receive any money but 1600 kg of kibble, delivered by Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Serbia.
