1. In Morocco, Hanane is almost out of kibble to feed the 180 dogs in her shelter. They will starve if no one intervenes!
"My shelter provides a safe haven for 180 dogs as I speak, each one relying on me for their meals every single day. Their number has been increasing a lot lately, depleting our food stock way faster than initially planed. The rising costs and the shelter's scarce resources have made the purchase of kibble an impossible task, we're at a dead end.
With less than 10 days of kibble left, we are standing on the brink of a food crisis that threatens the dogs very survival. The thought of them going hungry is something I can't bear, my worry grows everyday. I'm constantly asking myself how I can keep feeding them, and I can't find an answer outside of this campaign. Without help, I cannot ensure their survival"
2. After all they've been through, dogs at Hanane's shelter cannot face disease and starvation, they need kibble!
"If I can't find kibble, all the dogs in my shelter would be at serious risk. Starvation could become a reality and with it, the threat of weakened immune systems and increased illnesses. A shortage would of course cause a huge distress among them, with all the issues that entails.
It pains me to even have to think about it, about their suffering, their health deteriorating due to the lack of something as fundamental as food. The fear of what might happen if I don't find kibble soon is overwhelming, driving me to do everything in my power, and hope we can prevent this outcome."
3. Hanane is out of force and resources to find kibble, she counts on this campaign to get out of this tight spot.
"I've tried everything I can think of to avoid this situation. From seeking donations to pleading for kibble on credit, all the while reaching out to the community and various organizations, the response has been minimal.
We are left in a very precarious position, it feels as though our plight and efforts are invisible to the outside world. Our mission to care for these dogs is at a standstill without kibble to feed them, while the help we so urgently need remains out of reach."
4. Hanane isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.
"Kibble is more than a daily necessity that keeps the dogs fed, it's the foundation of everything we do in our rescue work, at the shelter and on the streets. Without it, our ability to save, care for, rehabilitate and rehome dogs is compromised.
The current shortage threatens not just the health of the dogs but the very future of our shelter and rescue mission, forcing us into difficult decisions about which ones we cannot afford to help. It is a daily struggle, with each day brining us closer to a point where we may no longer be able to support those in our care, and those who would need it. "
5. Hanane fights with everything she has not only for these dogs, but for Animal Welfare to exist in Morocco.
"Despite the ongoing struggles, my commitment to abandoned dogs never wavers. It's the small victories that keep me going, each dog saved is a reminder of why I do this, and why I need to be strong and keep doing it. The bond I share with these animals drives me a daily basis.
This hardship is not just mine, it reflects the broader challenges of animal welfare in Morocco, which is the reason why we critically need support and solidarity, to keep saving more dogs, one by onen even when the odds seem insurmountable."
6. If this campaign succeeds, Hanane will not receive any money but 1500 kg of kibble, delivered from the Animal Webaction's logistics centre in Morocco.
