"Our kibble stock is dangerously low; I've been forced to ration portions for already 10 days... Meals are ending, and our dogs, still hungry, show their frustration. This leads to fights among them due to insufficient food for everyone!
Under these conditions, it's impossible for me to consider taking in new dogs; each new arrival would only worsen the situation, increasing the pressure on already insufficient resources!
We must act, and quickly. If we cannot turn this situation around, it would be a real blow. It's the very survival of the dogs we promised to protect that is at risk! I'm truly dreading the long-term effects of this shortage on their behavior and health..."
2. The shortage of kibble triggers a spiral of violence at the shelter: Hanane fears tragic losses...
"The lack of kibble directly impacts the dogs' health. They start to lose weight, a clear sign they're not getting enough food. This shortage weakens their immune system, making them more susceptible to diseases.
The lack of kibble also creates tension. The dogs, becoming more anxious and hungry, fight more often. These fights could become serious, and I worry about having to intervene more frequently to prevent things from getting out of hand...
What concerns me the most is the escalation of violence. The fear that a fight turns into a tragedy is constant. Without a sufficient supply of kibble, I fear this tense atmosphere may become the norm, endangering the safety of all the dogs in the shelter!"
3. Hanane receives fewer and fewer donations and all her attempts to obtain kibble have failed: this campaign is all she has left to save her dogs!
"Donations are becoming increasingly rare, despite my regular calls for donations on social media. I've also proposed sponsorships for the dogs, which haven’t generated much interest.
My requests for grants have gone unanswered, and my efforts to expand my donor circle have not been fruitful... Even my attempts to contact international animal protection organizations have led nowhere. I've also approached kibble suppliers hoping for donations, or at the very least, price reductions, without success...
I feel like I've tried so many different approaches; yet none really worked... The indifference I face in response to my calls for help is hard to accept. Food can't wait! Each day without kibble brings us closer to a crisis that could have disastrous consequences for the animals we strive to protect..."
4. Hanane isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.
"Kibble is not a luxury but a necessity for the survival of the dogs in the shelter. The imminent kibble shortage threatens not only the dogs' health, making their veterinary care more complex, but also affects our ability to plan rescues.
Kibble plays a crucial role in the rehabilitation and social integration of rescued dogs. Without it, they cannot recover, learn to trust again, interact with other dogs and humans... Adoptions also largely depend on their health, appearance, and behavior. A well-fed and sociable dog is a dog that has a much better chance of being adopted!
The sustainability of our mission is at stake; without kibble, the shelter might even have to close its doors... Without a solution to this shortage, we will no longer be able to offer a refuge to these beings who have already suffered so much... This prospect is terrifying, not only for us but especially for the many dogs that depend on our help!"
5. Hanane acts from the heart to help the animals in her town, guided by her love for them and the desire to give them another chance.
"I work every day to help the animals in my city. I do it without expecting anything in return, simply driven by the desire to help them and the love I have for them. My shelter is not just a shelter for them; it's their chance to start a new life.
