Moon is having trouble moving, losing weight, and her legs are swelling up… she needs some supplements!

1. She limps!

Moon is a 28-year-old mare who birthed 14 foals before being abandoned by her breeder. Because of her clubfoot, she often limps and struggles to move. She also tends to easily weaken.

2. She suffers from swollen legs...

Moon often experiences lymphangitis. Bacterial infections cause her lymphatic vessels to become inflamed, resulting in her legs swelling. As soon as the initial symptoms appear, we apply clay poultices to her.

3. Pellets would help her keep fit

Pellets would provide Moon with a low-sugar and low-starch diet, which would help reduce inflammation in her lymphatic vessels.

Such a healthy and balanced diet would also strengthen her immune system, making her less vulnerable to infections. By receiving complete and regular meals, she would be less likely to lose weight.

4. Without help, the shelter is at risk of closing its doors...

Financially speaking, we're going through a tough time. Our budget is stretched thin while we have about twenty horses to take care of at the shelter.
