Animal Webaction visited the site 04 May 2024 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Sally will soon run out of kibble to feed the hundreds of dogs cared for by her association, both at her sanctuary and on the streets: they will starve if no one helps!

%%%

"We are dangerously low on kibble. We're talking about 650 dogs in our sanctuary and 350 stray dogs relying on us for food - that's huge! And the kibble we have left will barely last a few more days.

We've been rationing for several weeks already. It breaks my heart. Seeing them, knowing they need more food... but we just don't have it. We've tried to stretch our resources, but it's simply not enough. Donations have dropped, and the number of dogs needing our help is constantly increasing!

The sanctuary dogs are losing weight and growing weaker. We have to delay taking in some dogs, and the street dogs are fighting for food... The situation is serious, and if we don't receive more kibble soon, I don't know what we'll do!"

2. Without kibble, the sanctuary's dogs risk falling ill, and stray dogs kill each other for food...

###

"The dogs in our sanctuary are already vulnerable by definition. If we don't receive kibble, I can't imagine the consequences. They'll continue to lose weight, their health will deteriorate... We won't be able to take in any more new dogs at all, leaving them on the streets, exposed to accidents and abuse.

As for the stray dogs, they rely entirely on us for food. Many live on the Atlantic coast, and until summer, there's no food there for them. Without our kibble, they'll have to scavenge through trash, putting their lives in danger. The thought of them starving, fighting over scraps... it's unbearable."

3. Faced with the failure of her calls for help, Sally feels powerless and alone in her struggle to feed the dogs.

###

"We really tried to get help for kibble, and we're constantly trying. We've reached out to local businesses, started fundraising campaigns, even contacted international animal welfare organizations. But the response has been disappointing.

We tried to negotiate with our food supplier, but with a €4000 debt, we can't secure more kibble on credit! We've cut costs elsewhere, reduced non-essential expenses to the bare minimum. But the kibble shortage remains.

It's disheartening, it really is. To see our efforts fall short, to feel helpless and alone in our fight for these animals... it's incredibly tough."

4. Sally isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.

###

"We need kibble more than anything else. Without it, we can't operate! We can't care for the vulnerable dogs in our sanctuary, the street dogs who rely on us. It's a domino effect - without kibble, we can't provide care, and without care, we can't save lives.

"We have debts at the veterinary clinic; we owe €4,000 to our kibble supplier and we just haven't got enough donations or funds to buy more. The future of our sanctuary and our dogs is at stake!"

5. Sally has given up everything to care for Morocco's neglected animals and give them the second chance they deserve.

###

"I love these animals, I really do. They're pure, innocent souls. They're my babies! I sold my home and business in the UK for them, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. But it's tough, that's for sure. In Morocco, animal welfare is often overlooked. The animal suffering we face daily can sometimes be hard to bear.

But when I look into the eyes of these dogs, I know I can't give up! The support from our followers and supporters means the world to me. It's the lifeline that keeps our sanctuary running, the fuel that powers our fight for these animals.

Every small victory, every life saved, it's all thanks to them. And it's what keeps me going, even in the face of adversity. Because at the end of the day, it's not about me. It's about these animals, these babies who deserve a chance at a better life."

6. If this campaign succeeds, Sally will not receive any money but 2300 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics centre in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistics centre in Morocco, which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble.

7. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail...

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

8. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibble, many dogs remain starving on the street!
