Animal Webaction visited the site 29 May 2024 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Bosnia, Samira has almost no kibble left to feed the 68 dogs at her shelter: they will starve if no one helps!

%%%

“The kibble is almost gone - we've only got two days' worth left! I've been drastically reducing the portions served to the dogs for two weeks now. The quality of the kibble is deplorable, but it's all I can offer them at the moment.

The dogs are losing weight visibly, they're becoming weaker, more nervous... I'm afraid the situation will completely deteriorate if I don't find something to feed them quickly! I'm doing everything I can to collect donations, but donors are becoming increasingly rare these days. I don't know what to do..."

2. The dogs are hungry, they're losing weight... Without this delivery, disease and fighting will wreak havoc in the shelter.

###

"If I don't get kibble, the dogs will continue to lose weight. They are already so thin, their ribs are sticking out. In this state of weakness, any disease could easily break out and spread among them!

When they are too hungry, some start fighting over food. Sometimes fights break out between them for the last scraps. It's not something I like to see, but it's understandable when they're starving...

The situation is becoming really critical. I sincerely hope this campaign will succeed. It's the only way to prevent things from getting worse for my dogs!"

3.  Donations are scarce and debts are piling up: Samira can no longer buy kibble!

###

“The shelter's financial situation is very tight. We have significant debts with the vet and the kibble supplier. Donations are becoming increasingly rare, especially here in Bosnia where helping animals is unfortunately not a priority.

But I've tried everything to get kibble. I've made numerous appeals for donations, organized fundraising events, distributed flyers around town... I've also gone door-to-door to raise awareness. But it hasn't brought much.

I even wrote to major foreign foundations, but my pleas have gone unanswered. I feel as if I've tried everything to no avail! It's very stressful because the dogs rely on me and I feel incapable of helping them...”

4. Samira isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.

###

"Our finances are already very limited. But if we must also spend the little remaining money on buying kibble, then we will have nothing left for anything else!

We will be forced to make impossible choices between feeding the dogs or paying for their veterinary care. Their vaccines and deworming treatments will have to be postponed, risking exposing them to serious diseases. Everything will collapse...

The situation is dire and my dogs can no longer afford to wait... Every day without kibble worsens the situation a bit more."

5. Samira works tirelessly to help abandoned and abused dogs.

###

"A wounded or sick animal has no chance of surviving without help in the wild. That's why I fight to offer them shelter, veterinary care, and food. They deserve so much better than this life of misery and suffering in the street!

Of course, this vocation is not easy. Running a shelter requires unwavering dedication, days without counting the hours or the effort. It's a daily battle, but I'll never give up.

As long as there are animals in need, I will be there to try to help them. My shelter is a modest grain of sand, but one that means a lot to me!"

6. If this campaign succeeds, Samira will not receive any money but 1360 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics centre in Bosnia.

Animal Webaction has a logistics centre in Bosnia which allows us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble.

7. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail...
