Arthritis, heart failure, dental problems: Balto's health is becoming increasingly frail...

1. He's blind in one eye!

Balto is a 13-year-old dog who has lived as a stray on the streets of La Réunion. He lost his sight in one eye due to an infection, and will live with a reduced field of vision for his entire life. His health is affected by severe heart failure and arthritis, requiring the extraction of some teeth.

2. He's not in good shape...

With age, Balto has developed heart failure: he easily gets out of breath and feels tired. He also suffers from arthritis, and his teeth are not in good shape (the vet had to extract some of his teeth).

3. With canned food, he could regain his strength

Canned dog food specifically designed for older dogs and those with medical conditions like Balto could be beneficial. An appropriate diet could help alleviate the pain associated with arthritis despite the loss of his teeth, by providing necessary nutrients in an easy-to-consume form.

4. We're increasingly helpless!

As a charity, we are facing exceedingly difficult times. We are dealing with an increase in animal suffering and a significant decrease in assistance, which is both draining and demoralising!

Despite the distress and high costs that come with rescues, we cannot remain indifferent to animal suffering. Charities like ours are in crisis, battling growing debts and a widespread sense of powerlessness...
