Valentine is a ten-year-old dog, who was seized from a shelter in Reunion following abuse, and was subsequently kept in a pound for two years before being repatriated to mainland France.
Confined in a corridor for years, poor Valentine hasn't seen daylight in a long time. Due to a lack of adequate care, she arrived very thin, with cataracts.
Valentine tested positive for heartworm disease. This slow-developing illness can be fatal: the presence of a worm in the heart can cause heart failure, and can result in the animal's death if not treated.
Valentine is therefore on an antibiotic treatment, to eradicate the parasite causing her ailment. But all this is very tiring for her...
Appropriate canned food could provide Valentine with essential nutrition, suitable for her age.
Such a diet would give her the necessary nutrients to support her immune system, aid her digestion, and help her gain weight, all while taking into account her specific medical conditions.
