We cannot let the street cats under Kawthar’s care starve!

Urgent! In Morocco, Kawthar has almost no kibble left to feed the 100 street cats she takes care of, they are going to starve!

Animal Webaction visited the site 08 June 2024 and confirms the situation described below.

1. In Morocco, Kawthar will soon run out of kibble to feed the 100 street cats who depend on her. They'll starve to death if nobody helps!

%%%

"I'm almost out of kibble. I see the last bags emptying, helpless... It's a huge stress! Donations are scarce, and my debts at the veterinary station are piling up, I no longer have the ability to buy kibble.

I'm forced to reduce the distributed portions. The cats aren't eating enough, I see their condition deteriorating day by day. I'm very afraid! Without my daily rounds, they'll have nothing to eat. They risk dying of hunger..."

2. The lack of kibble pushes stray cats out of their territories: they risk poisoning, accidents and mistreatment!

###

"Stray cats already have a hard life, a kibble shortage will only make things worse! Without my rounds, they risk wandering off to find something to eat, rummage through trash... They risk being caught in traffic accidents, and could poison themselves by eating anything.

Without my protective presence, they also risk being mistreated by the population. Especially if they're starving, approach houses, create nuisances... It's a risk that is already present under normal circumstances, but will be exacerbated if the kibble shortage sets in.

All these thoughts stress me out a lot. Every day, I fight to feed them, to protect them. But I know that without this kibble, I won't be able to ensure their survival."

3. Despite her good will, Kawthar was unable to raise enough donations to feed the stray cats.

###

"My financial situation is precarious. I have debts at the veterinary station, and I don't have the means to buy kibble. Yet, I'm not sitting idle. I've contacted several associations, companies, I've launched calls for donations on social media... But the donations I receive are insufficient to cover the cats' needs.

People don't seem to understand the urgency of the situation. They think that stray cats can manage on their own, that they don't need our help. But they're wrong. The cats need us to survive, and we need this kibble to help them!"

4. Kawthar isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the cats from starving.

###

"The lack of kibble has a significant impact on my daily life as a volunteer. I have to ration the portions, make impossible calculations. I have to travel long distances to beg for kibble, food scraps from shops...

It's exhausting, it stresses me out enormously. I constantly wonder how I'm going to be able to continue feeding the cats, I have insomnia... It affects my morale and my ability to concentrate on other important aspects, such as veterinary care, sterilization.

And the kibble, it's what gives the cats the strength and energy they need to survive on the street. Without it, I feel like I'm not fulfilling my mission and my promise to them..."

5. Driven by her love of animals and her moral duty, Kawthar has become a spokesperson for their defense.

###

"I fight for animals because I love them, and because I believe it's my duty as a human being. I sacrifice a lot for them, like my ability to go on holiday, my free time, sometimes even my mental health.

The neighbors' complaints, the stress when I don't have enough food for the cats... All of this is part of my daily life. But I continue, because I know it's important. Because I know I'm making a difference in their lives.

In Morocco, where the culture of animal protection is still developing, my fight is all the more important! The support of donors is essential for me. It's what gives me the strength and the ability to continue, for them."

6. If this campaign succeeds, Kawthar will not receive money but 1100 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics centre in Morocco.

Animal Webaction has a logistics centre in Morocco, which enables us to intervene quickly and deliver kibble.

7. Campaigns launched on Animal Webaction often fail...

When a campaign fails, Animal Webaction cannot deliver the products. The beneficiary doesn't receive anything and the buyers are refunded.

8. In Morocco, donors are scarce, and there are no foundations or subsidies. It is very difficult to find funding for kibble, many cats are left to starve on the street!
