Poor Denia was left for days without food, locked in an apartment...

1. She was abandoned without food or water!

Dénia is a two-year-old cat that we took in back in September 2023. She was found in an apartment following a report from neighbours. Having been without food or water for a prolonged period, she had to be hospitalised for a whole month!

2. Fluid keeps accumulating in her chest cavity...

Following her hospitalisation, Dénia was spayed but developed a fever a few days later. An ultrasound revealed that she was suffering from pleural effusion...

Despite multiple drains, the fluid keeps accumulating in her chest. As she's not in any pain, we're keeping her under close observation and will continue taking care of her.

3. She suffers from digestive issues!

If she eats standard dry food or canned food, Dénia immediately gets diarrhoea. Already weak, she can rapidly lose weight...

4. With suitable canned food, she could regain her strength healthily

Gastrointestinal canned food would provide Dénia with the ideal diet to help soothe her intestines. It would be an opportunity for her to regain her strength, which would be a much-needed boost after all she's been through!

5. Abandonments keep happening...

In addition to the kittens we find outside, there are always numerous abandonments. Right now, we have 200 cats at the shelter and about thirty in foster homes... Donations and subsidies just aren't enough to cover all our costs!
