Animal Webaction visited the site 30 June 2024 and confirms the situation described below.
"The dogs are already emaciated, the lack of kibble is clearly taking its toll. It breaks my heart to see them like this. I'm trying to make our remaining kibble last as long as possible, so I'm giving them the bare minimum, but we've reached our limits! Their condition is deteriorating, slowly but surely, and we only have enough kibble for two more days at most.
I've tried everything to get us out of this situation, in vain. I'm really worried! These dogs have no one else... If I can't find kibble, they won't be able to eat, and their condition will only worsen. At this point, this campaign is our only hope to overcome this crisis."
"The lack of kibble is severely threatening the dogs' health. Diseases can spread very quickly in a shelter, especially with so many animals, and if they are all weakened by malnutrition...
A weakened dog is an easy target for infections of all kinds, and contagion is almost inevitable, regardless of preventive measures or veterinary care provided!
My helplessness in this situation is eating me up inside, their lives are at stake, and the suffering they could endure is a reality I don't even want to imagine."
"I no longer know how to cope with the current situation. Our debts have accumulated inexorably because there are many dogs, they have constant needs, and our resources have recently been insufficient to cover them.
I've tried to reduce expenses to the maximum, but it seems that every step forward is followed by two steps back. Attempts to obtain additional funds have failed, and efforts to receive donations in kind have been fruitless.
I've tried to negotiate credit with my usual suppliers, to find new partners, but since I already have unpaid debts, nothing is working. I'm stuck, and it's the dogs who risk paying the price if no one helps us out."
"Protecting animals is more than a commitment for me; it's a life mission. The treatment of animals here is almost unimaginable—they are neglected, despised, mistreated... Giving them a second chance is reaffirming our humanity, our ability to rectify the world's injustices.
I sometimes wonder if my efforts are just a drop in the ocean. I wish I could see more improvement, to say that my fight for animal rights, our fight for those of us who love them, is bearing fruit and leading to a change in how they are treated. To be honest, there are days when I'm not sure that's the case.
What I am sure of, however, is the difference it makes for the animals who are rescued, their resilience, their ability to forgive, to love again, and to enjoy life if given the chance, even when no one thought it possible. And that's what keeps me going."
