1. In Morocco, Najat is running out of kibble to feed the 80 street cats she takes care of. They will starve if no one intervenes!
"The stray cats I feed have lost weight in recent weeks. I only have 7 days of kibble left, so I am doing what I can... I am reducing portions to stretch the meager remaining supply. But this is a stopgap solution and it’s insufficient: the cats are losing weight and they are hungry!
Among the colonies, some cats are young, others old or sick. They won’t survive long without my distributions! And the extreme heat they are currently enduring will only make things worse...
I have exhausted all options to obtain kibble, and I am terrified at the thought that this effort might not reach its goal... I can’t let the cats starve!"
2. Without kibble to boost their health, disease will decimate street cats...
"Without kibble, the health of the cats will rapidly decline. Their immune systems, already weakened by rationing, will collapse. Viruses and bacteria will spread like wildfire! The most vulnerable cats - kittens, seniors, pregnant females - will be the first to be affected...
Without kibble to sustain them and boost their defenses, I will be powerless against this wave of illnesses. The possibility of seeing these cats that I have been feeding and caring for over the years succumb one after another paralyzes me with fear!"
3. Faced with rising veterinary costs and meagre resources, Najat is helpless!
"I’ve lost count of the hours spent juggling numbers, doing everything possible to ensure every cent is used in the best way. Feeding all these hungry mouths is expensive, even with the best will in the world! So when unexpected expenses and vet bills pile up like they have recently, I feel a great deal of stress. I know I will have to fight even harder, cut back on everything, to continue feeding them...
Their gaze, every morning, reminds me of the importance of this mission. The cats don’t understand financial problems or difficult month-ends. All they see is their immediate survival! And all I want is to be able to promise them that every day, by continuing my kibble distributions..."
4. Najat is not asking for money, only kibble to prevent the street cats from starving.
"It’s hard to remain indifferent to the gaze of a stray cat. Those eyes that scrutinize, implore, question. It was through a meeting, a look, that my commitment began.
I became fond of these little fragile souls, I learned to know them, to understand them. Gradually, I found myself naming them, recognizing their habits, their meows. Here, stray cats are everywhere. And as time went by, the desire to help turned into a necessity!
When I see a cat regain strength after a good meal, when I receive a message from a happy adopter... I have hope of making a difference, even in my small way!"
5. If this campaign succeeds, Najat will not receive any money but 1200 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics centre in Morocco.
