Nervousness, thinness, persistent diarrhoea: poor Délice has hyperthyroidism!

1. He has thyroid issues…

Delice is a 14-year-old cat who suffers from a thyroid malfunction. He was extremely nervous, very thin, and suffered from persistent diarrhoea. We therefore carried out investigations to find out more, before placing him on treatment, in order to alleviate his symptoms.

2. He struggles to eat!

Delice is beginning to lose his teeth and drool, as the inside of his mouth is inflamed. Chewing has thus become a struggle for him. All of this is due to calicivirus, an unfortunately highly contagious disease...

3. With canned food, he could eat painlessly

Cans of wet pet food would be beneficial for Delice. They would facilitate his feeding despite the calicivirus, and would help him replenish his nutrients on a daily basis. This would also be a great way to spare his fragile intestines...

4. Our resources are very limited…

We encounter many cases of calicivirus among the cats that we care for. With around forty moggies to manage, we try to organise collections, but life has become hard for everyone! Resources are limited while needs are increasing...
