Animal Webaction visited the site 14 July 2024 and confirms the situation described below.
"There isn't a single piece of kibble left; the dogs are fighting among themselves because they aren't getting enough to eat... The weaker ones are getting their food stolen, the stronger ones are dominating, and the aggression and tensions keep rising.
We feel incredibly helpless, and we're really scared that things are going to get out of hand. We can't keep going like this for long!"
"If we can't find any kibble, we won't be able to prevent the authorities from resuming the culling of stray dogs. These innocent animals will lose their last chance at survival, in a completely unjust way.
The daily life of these dogs is already a struggle; they will be weakened, starving, with no way out... And we won't even be able to take them into the shelter to save them. It would be a true tragedy! I can't imagine it coming to that."
"Donations are lacking, and without donations, we can't buy more kibble. When you say it like that, it seems simple, and you think you just need to get more donations to solve the problem. But how?
We've tried everything to get more: making appeals for help, organizing collections, raising media awareness, posting online, etc. Nothing works. Sometimes we get promises of help to come, but they never materialize.
Days go by, our problems worsen, we're getting stuck, and we are at a loss. The frustration of not being able to get us out of this is immense..."
"Since I was a child, I've always felt a very strong connection with animals. My commitment to abandoned dogs is a vocation, born from the limitless compassion I have for them. There's nothing glorious about it; I face abandonment, illness, abuse, and sometimes even the death of these animals, on a daily basis.
I sometimes feel so much sadness, it's hard to keep going, but I know I have to continue for them. Because they have no one else, and most people are completely indifferent to their fate. And because, in reality, they repay me a hundredfold with every moment I share with them; they are never indifferent to those who give them attention."
