Jacq is a cat of about 10 years old that we took in about a fortnight ago as he is carrying FIV (a highly contagious disease that attacks his immune system).
Vulnerable, he has contracted a calicivirus: ulcers in his mouth make it difficult for him to eat, so much so that he has lost weight. Dental extraction is planned soon to ease his pain.
Tins of appetising wet food would allow Jacq to recharge his energy, despite the ulcers in his mouth. Rich in vitamins, such canned food would help him build up his strength, and perhaps allow him to fight the disease more effectively.
We are currently caring for about 150 animals, which always represent a lot of cats to take care of, to feed and to treat.
Kittens are arriving from every direction! Not to mention the rise in the cost of living and abandonments, which further complicate our already difficult situation...
