Animal Webaction visited the site 25 August 2024 and confirms the situation described below.
"The kibble stock is dangerously low. Only 3 days left before it runs out. 3 days for 335 cats is incredibly short. I'm reducing portions, but I can't do this indefinitely...
It's impossible to take in new animals, even though I know many are out there, left to fend for themselves. I can't do it—not without guaranteeing them a minimum of security, a full bowl each day!
This campaign is the only solution. The only way to keep going, not to give up. I hope with all my heart that we succeed."
"Many of the cats in the shelter are already battling illness or injuries—that’s why we rescued them! The lack of kibble is further weakening their fragile health. Their recovery has become a daily challenge, one whose outcome I can’t predict...
The stray cats aren’t spared either. Without our regular distributions, they are exposed to malnutrition, disease... Their survival is also at stake.
This situation deeply worries me. Without kibble, we are unable to fulfill our mission: to give these cats a chance at a better life. We watch them grow weaker, powerless to help..."
"I've always managed to find solutions for my animals, but this time, I have to admit I'm overwhelmed. The massive influx of abandoned cats has thrown the shelter's fragile balance into disarray. The bills are piling up, donations are scarce, and the kibble is disappearing at an alarming rate!
I can't sleep anymore. I'm constantly worrying about one thing: how will I feed them tomorrow? How can I offer them a decent life when I can't even meet their most basic needs?
Lately, the shelter feels like a Noah's Ark adrift... More and more cats, abandoned without shame. It’s hard to turn them away. But the consequences of this influx are severe: reduced rations, constant stress about running out... Without enough kibble, we can’t even begin to think about their future with any peace of mind."
"In the beginning, it was just one or two abandoned cats. Then the shelter filled up. Animal suffering is everywhere; it’s a vicious cycle. We can’t turn a blind eye. There are those who are abandoned, and then there are the street cats—fearful, emaciated, injured.
It’s a constant commitment. I’ve lost count of the hours, the sleepless nights, the vet appointments. Sometimes doubt creeps in, along with exhaustion and loneliness. You start to wonder why you’re here, fighting alone for beings that some people see as insignificant... The indifference and cruelty cut deep.
But seeing a frightened animal regain trust, thrive in a loving home—that’s what gives you the strength to keep going. Every life saved is a victory. Every animal deserves a second chance, a bit of warmth, a safe place to call home."
