1. In Serbia, Zuzana is almost out of kibble to feed the 110 dogs in her shelter. They will starve if no one helps!

"Our kibble stock is dangerously low. With 110 dogs in the shelter and only enough kibble for 3 days, the situation is becoming critical. I can't take in any more dogs, and it's heartbreaking to turn away animals in need. The dogs we currently have are completely dependent on this kibble to survive.

I feel helpless in this situation. Each dog has a story, often marked by abandonment and suffering. Not being able to feed them properly is unbearable for me! I sincerely hope this kibble campaign will help us get through this tough time, but the worry is eating away at me. What if we don't make it? What if we don't get enough kibble? What will happen to them?

The dogs are my absolute priority, and I know they rely on me. This campaign is my last hope to keep feeding them and prevent this situation from becoming a nightmare."

2. Zuzana knows it: without kibble, the many dogs in the shelter won't stand a chance against diseases.

###

"The health of the dogs is a precarious balance in a shelter; the fact that they are numerous and close together creates a very favorable environment for diseases. If I don’t find kibble, the situation will quickly become critical for these dogs. Their bodies, deprived of nutrients, will gradually weaken, and diseases will spread rapidly—there is unfortunately no doubt about that.

This prospect haunts me. I am constantly overwhelmed by the anxiety of not finding a solution in time, and it terrifies me."

3. The bowls are emptying, and donations are becoming scarce: Zuzana feels powerless against the hunger threatening the dogs.

###

"It’s hard to come to terms with this, but the lack of donations is preventing me from properly filling the dogs’ bowls. Running a shelter is a commitment to the animals we care for, but it's especially challenging to uphold that commitment when support doesn’t match the needs, which is exactly the situation right now.

I’ve been struggling for weeks to make ends meet, trying to get by with a few bags of kibble scrounged here and there, some unsold goods, and a few campaigns. But these are just temporary fixes; I can’t secure substantial donations that would allow us to turn things around, and buying kibble is completely out of reach at this point.

I’m resilient; I can handle the work, the exhaustion, and the daily challenges that come with running a shelter, and I can push my limits. But I can’t create the donations and resources that I don’t have..."

4. Zuzana isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the dogs from starving.

###

"Running a shelter is an adventure every single day, leaving little room for anything else. I have to face moments of loneliness and exhaustion, especially when resources are scarce and I’m confronted with such difficult rescues...

It’s hard, but I know why I’m here, why I do all of this: I’ve never doubted or questioned the value of what I’m doing, or why the shelter exists. Every rescue, every step forward in animal protection, no matter how small, is a victory against suffering. And I know I’m not alone in this fight—even if I sometimes feel abandoned by everyone, in reality, there are thousands, millions of us fighting for the same cause, and together we can make a difference."

5. If this campaign succeeds, Zuzana will not receive any money but 1600 kg of kibble, delivered from Animal Webaction's logistics platform in Serbia.

7. In Serbia, street dogs are hunted by the state and ignored by the population, volunteers like Zuzana are their only hope.
