Animal Webaction visited the site 14 September 2024 and confirms the situation described below.
"The situation is critical; there are only 5 days of kibble left for the 60 dogs at the shelter. The street dogs, who are used to waiting for me because they know I bring them food, haven't received any kibble for a few days now. It's heartbreaking not to be able to help them, to feel their hunger without being able to alleviate it. I feel like I'm betraying them...
I am extremely worried about the coming days and weeks. Without kibble, the street dogs have to do whatever they can to find food; and the shelter dogs have no other option if I don't find a solution before the stock runs out."
"The situation is dire; the dogs are already suffering from the lack of kibble. Their health is deteriorating and will only get worse if I can't find a solution to get more. Malnourished and weakened dogs are highly susceptible to diseases, parasites, and infections. Whether they are in the shelter or on the streets, they all face the same risk from hunger and illness.
I can't think of anything else. The kibble shortage consumes everything, everywhere, all the time, because the consequences are so severe that I can't focus on anything other than finding solutions. Yet despite all my efforts, I haven't found any. All my attempts have failed so far..."
"Weeks go by, and the number of dogs in need keeps increasing, with a rapidly depleting stock of kibble and veterinary expenses choking us! What am I supposed to do, sacrifice some to save others? That's not what I call a choice; the essence of a shelter is to be there when animals need it.
The current demand far exceeds my supply capacity, and I feel helpless in the face of this reality. I'm doing my best given the circumstances, but it's not enough. What we need is support that matches the needs of these dogs."
"For as long as I can remember, animals have always held a central place in my life. I grew up surrounded by them, each with their own story, personality, and fears. My commitment to them began naturally, almost instinctively, when I realized how many dogs were left on their own, with no one to look after them. Their distress deeply moved me and sparked an unwavering determination to give them a better life.
What drives me forward is the profound belief that every life matters. Every dog, whether young or old, sick or healthy, deserves a chance to know love and security. This gives meaning to my commitment, along with the bonds I form with them, which are genuine and pure. They remind me of the importance of compassion and respect for all forms of life."
