Animal Webaction visited the site 18 September 2024 and confirms the situation described below.
"I think about all the dogs I won't be able to save if the kibble shortage continues. Most people don't realize how immense the needs are here! Every day, I'm contacted about new dogs—injured, starving, accident victims, nursing mothers, abandoned litters... I won't be able to take them in, offer them shelter, or even give them a simple meal. I won't be able to do anything for them.
Their fate will be in the hands of animal control or left to chance. They will suffer and die in utter indifference, and it breaks my heart just to think about it. The absence of kibble represents the absence of hope for so many dogs in distress."
"If I can no longer distribute kibble to the street dogs, the authorities might take extreme measures to reduce their numbers. These dogs, who have already suffered from hunger and neglect, are at risk of being culled for public safety reasons.
I can't stop thinking about this possibility, and it fills me with despair. The mere thought of losing even one of these dogs breaks my heart. They don't deserve this; they shouldn't have to be victims of hunger and violence."
"Donations are no longer enough to meet our needs, and I find myself out of solutions to manage everything. One might think that simply asking for more donations would work, but the reality is much more complex!
I've tried new methods to attract attention, with more creative awareness campaigns, different appeals, and actions. I've done everything to touch people's hearts, but evidently, I haven't succeeded, and I don't know why. Giving up is not an option; I'm determined to find solutions, but time is running out, and I'm overwhelmed by the looming prospect of not being able to feed the dogs."
"The first time I reached out to a stray dog, I knew my heart would be forever tied to their cause. It's not a choice, but an undeniable truth that presents itself every day. Isolation and sadness are inevitably part of the journey—there is nothing more heartbreaking than seeing an animal suffer in silence, with no one to help... And I can change that.
I am physically and emotionally exhausted, but the duty to never abandon those who need me gives me the strength to overcome obstacles. The love they give back often makes up for all my hardships, and that is the greatest reward."
