"The conditions at the feeding sites are getting worse by the day, and the number of cats is increasing. People are abandoning their sick, weak animals, and even newborn kittens. It’s always the same story...
Feeding them is a daily battle. The price of kibble keeps rising, while donations are becoming scarce. I’m left to handle this situation on my own, and it’s getting harder and harder to bear. For a while now, I’ve had to ration the portions to stretch out the supplies. The cats only get one meal a day, and they’re no longer eating their fill... It breaks my heart.
I’ve been knocking on every door, but help is rare, and my stress is constant... This campaign is my last chance. It’s vital that it succeeds so I can continue taking care of them!"
2. Without kibble, cats will desperately search through garbage, they will quickly die of hunger or disease...
"Every day, the street cats wait for me to feed them, at the same place, at the same time. But in a few days, I’ll have nothing left...
If I can’t find any kibble, I’ll have to stop feeding them entirely: they’ll grow weaker and start scavenging in trash bins. The consequences will be immediate: malnutrition, disease...
Their health will deteriorate quickly. I’m scared of seeing them waste away in front of me... It would be unbearable to abandon them, all because I don’t have enough kibble! I can’t let them starve to death..."
3. Calimero is emaciated and exhausted... He won't make it without kibble.
"I found Calimero during my rounds. He’s in terrible shape, suffering from malnutrition and diarrhea. He’s skinny and exhausted... He desperately needs to regain his strength.
He’s very fearful, but I managed to take him to the vet. Now I’m waiting for news... One thing is certain: for him to recover, he will need proper nutrition. I need kibble for him, it’s vital!"
4. Strangled by the costs and the drop in donations, Kawthar is at her wits' end... Without help, she will no longer be able to feed her cats.
"Every month, the expenses are enormous: kibble, vet care, medicine... Unfortunately, donations have dropped significantly since the start of the economic crisis. To make matters worse, I currently have sick cats hospitalized at the vet, which adds even more costs...
I can’t handle it all on my own, especially since I don’t have a stable income. I sell accessories to try to support the cats, but it’s not enough! I always put their needs before my own, depriving myself of many things. But some months, despite all my efforts, I end up with 95% debt! It’s becoming unsustainable.
I can’t continue on my own. I need help so I can keep helping them. ‘Strength in unity’..."
5. Kawthar is not asking for money, only kibble to prevent the cats from starving.
"As a child, I watched my parents feed the stray cats. One day, they even took in a pregnant cat who gave birth in our home. These acts of kindness left a deep impression on me. As soon as I was able, I followed in their footsteps to help animals myself.
Today, I see the impact of my actions. People are following my lead; some are feeding the street cats like I do. It warms my heart! But the battle is far from won. Too many owners still refuse to spay their female cats, leaving kittens to be abandoned. It’s a vicious cycle that’s hard to break.
What’s more, finding homes for these cats is a real challenge. Few people want to adopt street cats. And I’m very strict—I won’t allow them to be adopted if it means they’ll just be abandoned again! It’s tough, but I keep going. Every cat saved matters."
