1. In France, Nadine is almost out of kibble to feed the 400 stray cats she looks after... They'll starve if no one steps in to help!

“We have animals appearing everywhere, cats we didn’t even know about who are now showing up at our feeding sites. We’re facing the full impact of the post-COVID era, with more and more people abandoning the pets they once adopted. People have completely lost interest in animal welfare, and we’re left to handle everything on our own...

Altogether, the association is caring for over 400 stray cats across about a hundred feeding sites. And that’s not counting all the sick cats we have at the shelter.

I only have three bags of kibble left, and we’ve been rationing the cats for a month already. They’re getting skinny; it breaks our hearts, and we’re feeling so discouraged… I’m completely overwhelmed; everything just feels hopeless.”

2. Dozens of cats and kittens left to fend for themselves have just been found at a new site. Nadine urgently needs kibble to help them!

“We’ve just discovered a new site with around fifty cats that need to be spayed or neutered, including at least thirty kittens! We haven’t even counted them all yet, and of course, none of them are identified, vaccinated, or sterilized…

We’re trying to take care of them as quickly as possible, but they’re extremely feral, and some are in places we can’t even reach. I got injured trying to rescue one the other day.

It’s a disaster; I’m completely panicking.”

3. Abandoned and abused, Hector is only skin and bones, and is barely recovering from a major surgery. He needs kibble!

###

“Hector is a free-roaming cat, around one or two years old, that we found a few weeks ago. He’s not very feral, so we think he was abandoned.

He was skin and bones and had a poorly healed jaw fracture that was about a month old. According to the vet, it’s likely from abuse… We had him undergo surgery, and he’s now receiving care and recovering, but he’ll be able to eat kibble normally once he’s healed.”

4.  Lack of donations, denied collection drives, insufficient support… Nadine is fighting for the cats' sake, but she’s at a breaking point.

“Donations have dropped significantly. As people have less money, they tend to give to large foundations, leaving small associations like ours at the end of the line. We even struggle to hold collection drives in stores, some places won’t allow us, saying we’re disturbing their customers… Some supermarkets do give us expired products, which we’re grateful for, but even that is becoming less frequent.

The municipality provides a small budget of 200 euros per year for sterilizations, which is almost nothing! Now, we’re dealing with unspayed females having litters, kittens with respiratory infections, it all requires extensive care and generates enormous expenses.

I keep sounding the alarm, but nothing changes. Despite our requests for help, we’re only met with refusals. I’m left with just my small pension to cover gas, water, electricity, food, medical care, and more… It’s simply impossible!”

5. Nadine isn’t asking for money, only kibble to keep the cats from starving.

“I’ve been caring for cats in need for nearly 30 years, and I started my association in 2011 to raise awareness about animal suffering. I’ve organized sterilization campaigns, fed, and cared for as many cats as possible.

Unfortunately, the needs are overwhelming, and we don’t have enough foster families either. There are times when we just don’t know what to do anymore.”
