Vagabond is a six-year-old cat who was abandoned by his owner. Left to fend for himself overnight, he would wander the streets.
Sadly, he has severe kidney failure, recently detected in a blood test. We therefore have a treatment to administer to him.
Vagabond tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). He has a persistent abscess at the base of his tail which is not healing and has become necrotic. Therefore, it will need to be removed during an operation...
Kidney-specific canned food would provide Vagabond with a specialised diet that could alleviate his kidney's workload. This type of food would minimise the build-up of toxins in his body and could help slow down the progression of his kidney failure.
It would improve his daily quality of life, and aid him in regaining strength following his operation.
With the increase in pet abandonment, we're encountering significant challenges. Managing around forty cats at the organisation and feeding stray cats outside requires resources that we simply don't have. With limited support, it's becoming harder to meet all our responsibilities!
