Animal Webaction visited the site 18 November 2024 and confirms the situation described below.
"The kibble is almost gone, which is terrible for both the shelter dogs and those we take care of on the streets. Fights break out... At the shelter, I have to step in more and more often to separate them! Not only are they hungry, but this situation is exhausting them. They're on edge, and the weaker ones are scared.
It's a nightmare to be in this position. People don't realize how essential kibble is for taking care of these dogs. I do my best to calm and reassure them, but inside, I'm terrified that this campaign will fail, and I'll be left without a solution..."
"The dogs, already hungry for several days, are nearing a breaking point. Hunger is causing increasing tension among them, and they are agitated. Fights will get out of hand if we don't receive kibble soon.
This scenario is unbearable to imagine. It means that, in addition to hunger, the dogs will likely suffer painful and sometimes severe injuries. The weakest will be the most vulnerable and the hardest to protect...
No matter how much I want to avoid it, each day that passes without finding a solution to get kibble makes this vision more likely."
"The number of dogs I take in keeps increasing. It's overwhelming. They are hungry, some arrive in a pitiful state and require extensive veterinary care, treatments, etc. It's not just more mouths to feed; it's also a whole series of additional expenses that add to those already present, further straining my meager budget.
I feel completely overwhelmed by the situation. I can't turn a blind eye or pretend these dogs don't exist or aren't my responsibility. I must help them. But I also need to be able to feed them all, and so far, I haven't found a way to do that."
"The first time I reached out to a stray dog, I knew my heart would be forever tied to their cause. It's not a choice, but an undeniable truth that presents itself every day. Isolation and sadness are inevitably part of the journey—there is nothing more heartbreaking than seeing an animal suffer in silence, with no one to help... And I can change that.
I am physically and emotionally exhausted, but the duty to never abandon those who need me gives me the strength to overcome obstacles. The love they give back often makes up for all my hardships, and that is the greatest reward."
