Animal Webaction visited the site 15 December 2024 and confirms the situation described below.
"My dogs aren't eating enough. It's been two weeks since I started cutting back on their kibble portions. I'm almost out, and to make matters worse, the number of dogs I'm caring for has increased. So the little kibble I have left is running out even faster!
What we urgently need is kibble. The dogs need to eat every day—this isn't something that can wait. I'm feeling overwhelmed, under immense pressure. This campaign has to succeed; otherwise, I don't see how I can keep feeding all the dogs under my care. I know I won't be able to manage."
"The dogs are eating less because I've had to reduce their portions, and it's showing. They're losing weight and becoming restless. If I can't restock soon, they might turn on each other—or even on me.
When hunger sets in, fights inevitably break out. It endangers their health, weakens their immune systems, and for the most vulnerable ones, it can be fatal. Without kibble, I'm powerless. I can't protect them—from hunger, from fights, or from illness. I can’t protect them from anything, really.
Kibble is the foundation of everything. It's the simplest, most vital need. If this campaign fails, it’s not just a setback. It’s the end. The end of everything I’ve worked tirelessly to build, and the end for these dogs that I fight every day to protect."
"Sophie has been at the shelter for about six months. She came from Casablanca after being hit by a car, with her leg badly fractured. Unfortunately, she’s paralyzed now.
She spends most of her time hiding in a corner, relying on me for everything. She absolutely cannot go without kibble. She has no chance of surviving without it."
"Our financial situation is a disaster. I can’t keep up with the costs for the dogs. Donations have dropped significantly, and the dogs’ needs far exceed what I’m receiving. I’m in debt—about 2,000 euros in total—owed to the veterinary clinic, the kibble supplier, the pharmacy. For a small organization like mine, that’s a crushing amount.
With no resources, I’ve been forced to postpone or cancel essential things: sterilizations, surgeries, treatments, even rescues. I can’t even pay my employee regularly anymore, and there are no volunteers to take over. As if that weren’t enough, the rent has gone up, making the situation even more unbearable. Honestly, I’m at my breaking point.
This mission demands an enormous effort—financially, physically, and emotionally. But with so little support, I don’t know how to keep going. Your organization is my last hope—the only help left for my dogs."
"My love for animals is what drove me to create this organization and this shelter. But it’s more than that. It’s also the terrible situation animals face here in my city and across the country. I couldn’t stand by and do nothing. So, I decided to act, to fight for their protection. From the start, I knew this shelter would be essential, both for stray dogs and for the community.
The reality for street animals here is harsh. They get virtually no support—neither from residents nor the authorities. Shelters like mine are almost nonexistent. There are so few of us trying to make a difference. Without my shelter, many of these dogs wouldn’t survive even a day on the streets.
These dogs have taught me so much and continue to do so every day. They’ve shown me that there’s always hope, even when everything seems lost. Thanks to them, I find the strength to keep going. They never give up. So how could I?"
