Papaya keeps getting laminitis!

1. Papaye Is struggling with Laminitis!

Papaye, a 23-year-old Shetland pony, is having a tough time. The vet has diagnosed her with Cushing's syndrome, a disease caused by a hormonal imbalance. This condition leads to hair loss, off-season shedding, weight fluctuations… and most notably, chronic laminitis, which makes her life miserable.

At the moment, the humidity is making things worse: Papaye is also suffering from hoof abscesses. Winter is an especially challenging time for her.

2. Pellets could help her regain condition

To help her get through the winter, it’s crucial to supplement her diet with pellets and a little wrapped haylage. This tailored diet would help stabilize her weight, restore her energy levels, and strengthen her immunity against the season’s challenges.

3. Veterinary costs are suffocating us...

Our association primarily takes in farm animals who are nearing their end or suffering from severe health conditions. The animals stay with us until their last day. They require constant, and often very expensive, care...

Altogether, there are more than 150 animals who depend on us every day. Yet the donations are increasingly scarce... Over the recent weeks, a major surgery for a horse and a rescue operation involving hens and rabbits have left us completely overwhelmed. We really need a helping hand to pull through!
