For weeks now, I’ve been juggling as best I can, cutting down on portions, but I can see the cats losing weight, their meows becoming more insistent. And now, I’ve just emptied the very last bag... I have nothing left to feed the hundreds of cats in the shelter and the street cats who depend on me!
The worst part is having to say "no." I get calls every day—abandoned kittens, lost cats, injured ones... Every time, I feel the same knot in my stomach. I know I should take them in, give them shelter. But how? I can’t even feed the ones who are already here.
This campaign is the only way out. The only way to refill the bowls and open the door to those still waiting!"
2. The many vulnerable cats under the care of the association will not survive a prolonged deprivation of kibble!
"The injured and sick cats at the shelter are a particular source of worry for me. Their recovery becomes even more difficult without enough kibble... It's the final blow to their already fragile health! Their wounds heal more slowly, infections linger, and without energy, they can’t recover properly.
On the streets, hunger accelerates the spread of disease. I fear that many, already weakened by the lack of food, will completely collapse... This situation is deeply concerning. The lack of kibble is the last straw: the cats’ health, already precarious, is deteriorating rapidly, and I am powerless to stop it..."
3. Unforeseen veterinary care has drained the association's meager budget... Corinne can no longer afford to buy kibble.
"I’ve always made sure the cats have enough to eat. It’s my top priority! But lately, it’s become challenging. I’ve had unexpected veterinary expenses, and I’ve spent everything I had to care for the cats in need, leaving me with nothing to buy kibble...
I’ve tried to find solutions: I’ve reached out to associations, made donation appeals, but it’s not enough. I don’t know how I’m going to feed all the cats. Life’s unexpected challenges spare no one, especially small operations like mine...
I need help to continue protecting the cats in the shelter and on the streets, to give them what they deserve: a full belly and a secure future."
4. Corinne isn't asking for money, only kibble to prevent the cats from starving.
"I fight for all these abandoned, lost, and forgotten cats. Those who are discarded like worthless toys. Kittens abandoned in a box, an old sick cat left to her fate, an injured cat... The examples are endless.
I often feel alone, angry, and helpless in the face of so much distress. I wonder how some people can be so indifferent to the fate of these animals. That's why I created my shelter. A haven of peace, fragile and imperfect, but a beacon of hope for these animals.
It's an immense responsibility but incredibly rewarding. You learn to decipher their looks, understand their needs, and love them as they are. And if my actions can, in my small way, change people's perspective on animal welfare, then all these efforts will not have been in vain."
