Arche de Ploum decided to move forward the ending date of their campaign because the quantity left in their stock of canned food is highly critical.

Grandma is battling kidney failure at 15 years old!

1. She was abandoned!

Mamie is a 15 year-old cat who was heartlessly abandoned by her previous owner due to her old age. Thankfully, the neighbours were quick to alert us to her presence and we've been able to care for her these past 6 months. Her affectionate behaviour shows that she was once part of a family.

2. Her old age is greatly weakening her

Old age has left its mark on our sweet Mamie: she has lost almost all her teeth and suffers from kidney failure. Water has also accumulated in her lungs, requiring regular treatment.

3. To regain her strength, she requires specially adapted canned food

With hardly any teeth left, Mamie can no longer eat dry food as it causes her pain. Special canned food, suitable for her kidney condition, would enable her to eat without discomfort whilst caring for her weakened kidneys.

4. Our association faces many challenges

We take care of 40 cats and kittens in foster care, in addition to feeding 80 stray cats on a daily basis. With fewer foster homes available and the arrival of spring signalling the birth of new kittens, the situation is becoming concerning.

The rise in food costs and veterinary expenses heavily impacts the finances of the association...
