The probable inbreeding has left significant sequelae on Gilbert: he is completely deaf and nearly blind. One of his eyes, atrophied, had to be surgically removed. These disabilities complicate his daily life, even though he is still very young...
To protect Gilbert during the winter, we are currently housing him in our house. In the spring, we plan to move him to an adapted environment: a fully fenced garden that will enable him to enjoy the outdoors in complete safety, despite his handicaps.
Unfortunately, our old kennels have been damaged by the weather and are no longer usable. To make this transition a success, we need to provide him with a new, robust and weather-resistant shelter.
Our association is going through a critical time: with about fifty cats under our responsibility, many of which are disabled or sick requiring expensive care, our resources are rapidly diminishing. The lack of volunteers and foster families, combined with a decrease in donations during our collections, jeopardizes our ability to care for our charges…
