Les Chats Libres de la Canterrane decided to move forward the ending date of their campaign because the quantity left in their stock of canned food is highly critical.

Rodney's muzzle is seriously damaged, eating hurts him!

1. He grew up on the streets

Rodney was born on the streets and has never had a family. He trusts no one and always keeps his distance. He sometimes comes to a feeding site, but remains very cautious.

2. His muzzle is badly damaged...

He's missing a large part of his upper lip... A cancer is suspected. He is also suffering from calicivirus which makes the inside of his mouth very painful. Eating is a struggle, any contact with dry food causes him burns and irritations!

We want to take him to the vet but since he became ill, he's become even more fearful. Catching him to help him is very difficult...

4. Canned food would spare him pain when eating

Dry food is too hard and salty for Rodney. Soft, moist food would allow him to eat without his gums coming into direct contact with rigid pieces. He could finally eat without pain and regain strength.

5. Too many sick cats, and not enough resources

We're facing a large outbreak of calicivirus. Many cats are sick and require care. The veterinary costs are high and our resources are already too low. We fear we will no longer be able to support the animals we assist.
