Les Chats Libres de la Canterrane decided to move forward the ending date of their campaign because the quantity left in their stock of canned food is highly critical.

It's bitterly cold, and Lucifer, already weakened, is struggling to eat!

1. He was left outside, fending for himself

Lucifer was left outside, fending for himself, a few months ago in November. He is fearful and hard to approach. Although he has been successfully neutered, he continues to face the daily struggles alone.

2. He fights the cold without reserves

Winter is here, with particularly low temperatures. Without sufficient reserves, Lucifer struggles to cope.

3. Eating causes him pain

Lucifer suffers from calicivirus, a disease that causes him jaw pain, thus making meal times difficult. He needs energy but eating causes him discomfort. His situation could worsen if he doesn't manage to adequately eat.

4. Canned food would allow him to feed himself

Wet food would allow him to eat without too much discomfort. This way, he could finally gain weight and better fend off the cold. An appropriate diet would also help to space out his episodes and strengthen his immune system.

5. We've got too many sick cats and not enough resources!

We are dealing with a major outbreak of calicivirus. Many cats are ill and need treatment. The vet bills are high and our resources already stretched too thin. We fear we may not be able to meet the needs of the animals we assist.
