1. We found her in a terrible state…

Petunia is a 9-year-old dog who we took in last year due to neglect and abuse. A native of Reunion Island, she contracted multiple serious tropical diseases, which severely weakened her such as dirofilariasis and spirocercosis…

As if that wasn't bad enough, she also suffers from Cadiot-Ball syndrome, a condition that gradually enlarges her leg bones. Moving around becomes increasingly difficult for her day by day…

2. She has lung cancer

Sadly, Petunia’s spirocercosis (worms that infect the oesophagus) has turned into lung cancer. At the moment, she is undergoing treatment and not suffering, and we want to do everything possible to keep it this way. We hope to offer her a peaceful and happy twilight of her life…

3. Canned food would help her regain strength

Petunia needs energy to keep going. Suitable nutrition, like senior canned food, would greatly help her, providing more vitamins and proteins essential to get her through the day. To be able to benefit from such food would definitely lift her spirits!

4. We're overwhelmed with veterinary costs...

Our association mainly takes care of ill, elderly dogs, often nearing the end of their lives. We look after 106 dogs at the moment, all with severe illnesses that require costly care. Our entire budget goes towards veterinary bills! We have no funds to allocate for food, precisely when our dogs need special... and therefore, very expensive food. We desperately need a helping hand to get through this!
