Grandma is battling kidney failure at 15 years old!

1. She's been abandoned!

Granny is a 15-year old cat who was cruelly abandoned by her former owner due to her old age. Thankfully, the neighbours quickly alerted us to her situation, and we were able to take her in 6 months ago. Her affectionate behaviour suggests that she's previously experienced family life.

2. Her old age significantly weakens her

Old age has left its mark on our sweet Granny: she has lost almost all of her teeth and is suffering from kidney failure. Water has also accumulated in her lungs, which requires regular treatment.

3. She needs clean, soft blankets

Due to her old age, Granny spends the majority of her time in her basket. Unfortunately, she has trouble controlling her needs and regularly soils her bedding.

Despite using absorbent pads, we frequently need to change her blankets to maintain her comfort and hygiene. Clean and soft blankets are essential to ensure she has a peaceful and dignified retirement.

4. Our association is facing numerous challenges

We look after 40 cats and kittens in foster homes, plus have 80 stray cats to feed daily. With fewer foster homes available and the arrival of spring signalling the start of kitten season, the situation is becoming worrying.

The rising cost of food and veterinary bills are placing a heavy burden on the association's finances...
